About This Pub

Ah, Pergola Brixton – it's one of those places that really captures the essence of a good night out in south London, doesn't it? Picture yourself up on that rooftop terrace, nestled in Brixton Village, with the sun dipping down and some chilled tunes setting the mood; it's just the ticket for a casual catch-up with mates. The staff are an absolute highlight – folks like Lucy go above and beyond, making sure your glass is never empty and even suggesting tweaks to your drinks to suit your taste, which always puts a smile on your face. Plus, the drink selection is solid, and that QR code for ordering food from nearby spots is such a handy idea; it feels modern and effortless. But, let's be honest, it's not all perfect – service can drag on, leaving you twiddling your thumbs when you'd rather be enjoying the moment, and while the cocktails are fine, they don't quite knock your socks off. The food's another story; it's a shame when it arrives tasting a bit off, like it's been waiting around too long. Overall, it's a spot I'd recommend for its vibe and friendly feel, but maybe plan for a relaxed visit and keep expectations in check for the finer details – that way, you're in for a treat without any surprises.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The rooftop venue is an absolute gem, tucked away in Brixton Village – it's a lovely spot for soaking up the sun and enjoying a relaxed vibe with great music playing in the background.
  • Staff like Lucy are top-notch; they're super attentive, fun, and quick to check in, making you feel right at home with their personalised service.
  • They've got a cracking selection of drinks and cocktails, perfect for experimenting or sticking to classics, and the option to order food from nearby places via QR code is a clever touch.
  • The atmosphere is spot on, especially on a sunny day – it's not too crowded, giving you a bit of privacy to chat and unwind.
Cons
  • Service can be painfully slow at times, which might leave you waiting longer than you'd like for your drinks or just a simple check-in.
  • The cocktails are alright but nothing to write home about – they're decent enough, but you might not find them particularly memorable or outstanding.
  • Food options can be a letdown; some dishes have turned up tasting like they've been sitting around for ages, which puts a bit of a dampener on the experience.
  • It can be tricky keeping track of your order or wait times, especially when things get busy, so you might end up feeling a tad frustrated.

Really nice roof top venue nestled at the back of Brixton Village. The staff were nice and very attentive. They have a great selection of drinks and cocktails. You can order food from quite a few different places using the QR code on the tables to be delivered to you (nice touch). We didn't have to wait long for the food. There is also a photobooth onsite that we made great use of! I will definitely be visiting again.

Just went on Saturday past. The place itself was nice enough. Good atmosphere and nice music playing. Great little sun trap on a sunny day but without being too warm. Cocktails were okay but nothing amazing. Service was INCREDIBLY slow. Also I know it must be hard to keep track of who’s been waiting at times but they seemed to not care about this, at all. Spent more time here, just standing at the front of the bar. It wasn’t very busy at the time either. Myself and two others at bar. Then a girl who pushed in as the bar person turned around - served her straight away and ignored the people who had been waiting. Only stayed for one drink because of this, so may have been better cocktails menu if we’d had the chance to try. Shame the service was so poor as otherwise could have been a nice place. Will not return.

We had a server called Lucy- she was utterly amazing- 10/10 service from her, the drinks came quickly and she would always pop by and check how we’re doing. The food was diabolical, my friend and I got the pork and chicken ones - they tasted like they had been sat for a solid 2 hours. The drinks are decent will get you to a decent level of pissed and you can order before the previous is done. The drinks are worth the money, the food not so much. Definitely better brunch places in London, especially if you’re looking for food.

What an amazing place! We just wanted to have a couple of cocktails before a gig but our wonderful server, Lucy, made it an experience in it's own. She was so unbelievably fun and attentive, suggesting drink variations to suit our tastes, never leaving us with empty glasses for more than a minute or two, and even giving us a blanket. Why did we have a blanket you ask? Because the CEILING OPENS! Very cool place, £5 apres margs on Thursdays, definitely worth a visit. Thanks Lucy ❤️

A roofed terrace located in Brixton Village. It is partially under the brick arches of an old bridge. The location is quite simple but beautiful. The tables are not very crowded, you have more privacy than in other places. Personal OK.
