About This Pub
Ah, The New Inn – it's one of those pubs that really hits the spot for a casual evening out. From what I've gathered from the reviews, the food stands out as a real winner; people are going on about how delicious everything is, with piping hot deliveries and standout items like the naan bread and spicy chips that leave you wanting more. The staff seem lovely too, always polite and making sure things run smoothly, which adds to that warm, welcoming feel you'd expect from a local spot. Inside, it's clean and comfortable, ideal for sinking a pint or two without any fuss, even if it's a bit quiet mid-week. On the flip side, though, it's not all perfect – a few have pointed out that the portions can be on the small side for the price, and there were some gripes about things not being cooked just right, like underdone chicken, which is a shame when you're looking forward to a proper meal. The outdoor area doesn't get much love either, so if you're hoping for a nice garden to relax in, you might be out of luck. All in all, I'd say it's worth a visit if you're in the area, especially for the food, but go in with realistic expectations and maybe check the menu prices first to make sure it suits your budget. It's got that solid 4.5 rating for a reason, so with a bit of balance, you're in for a good time.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The food is absolutely spot on – reviewers rave about the tasty dishes like the naan bread and chicken madras, with one saying it's the best they've ever had.
-
Service is top-notch; the staff and delivery drivers come across as really polite and friendly, making for a welcoming vibe.
-
It's a decent spot for a pint, with a clean inside area that's perfect for a relaxed catch-up, even if it's quiet during the week.
-
Overall, it's got a strong rating, so you can expect a generally positive experience when you pop in.
Cons
-
Some folks have mentioned the food being overpriced for what you get, with portions feeling a bit skimpy.
-
There have been complaints about food quality, like chicken not being cooked through properly, which is a bit of a worry.
-
Certain items, such as the keema nan, were described as thick and doughy with hardly any filling, which might disappoint if you're after something substantial.
-
The outside area isn't up to much, so it's probably not the best for al fresco drinks on a sunny day.
-
You might miss out on those little extras that other places throw in, like free poppadoms or sauces with your order.

Really lovely food, first time ordering. Polite man on phone, polite delivery driver. Good quality and tasty food delivered piping hot and fairly quickly. Would recommend. The naan bread was the best we ever had from anywhere. The chicken in the madras lovely and the rice nice too. The spicy chips were really nice. Only thing we didnt like was the mint sauce unfortunately but everything else was delicious
Food is absolutely gorgeous..all hot when arrived on time first time ordering here didn't no it was doing food very pleased..also the cheese and chilli naan is perfection! So much filling please don't change them 👌🏼
Love the pub great people good atmosphere...the thing that let's the place down is the food....its over priced and under portioned...I had a chicken curry recommended by another patron and the chicken was not cooked through I paid for two portions of spiced chips for take away with a nan and I was very disappointed when I got it home withe the portions, when I went back and told the chef his excuse for the undercooked chicken was a different supplier...not sure how that causes it to be undercooked, and the small portions excuse was we always give less for take aways .... my advice is don't use them for a Indian take away, save your money and stick to who you trust...as a pub on the other hand it's a great place for a beer and sports.... the Indian take away isn't part of the pub they just work out of the kitchen and to be honest shouldn't be there as it reflects on the pub as there's been a few complaints so save your money and get a proper take away.
1st time ordering delivery driver friendly 2 starters 2 mains 2 rice very tasty only thing we could fault the keema nan was very thick and doey n hardly any meat and for £33 pound no free poppadoms or onion salad or mint sauce which most places send
Decent pub for a pint. Outside area isn't great but inside was fine and clean. Was very quiet when I came as it was a weekday but overall a really nice pint. Would like to come back here when it is busy to see the atmosphere and service
