About This Pub
Ah, The Twelve Pins – it's one of those pubs that really pulls you in, isn't it? From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, it's a proper local in Finsbury Park that's spot on for catching an Arsenal match; the energy is infectious, and it's clear folks come here to enjoy the camaraderie and a good pint without breaking the bank. The food's a highlight too – think juicy burgers made with meat from a nearby butcher, paired with generous chips, or those comforting Sunday roasts that feel like a warm hug on a chilly day. It's all so reasonably priced, making it a go-to for a relaxed meal or just a quick drink. On the downside, a couple of reviews point out that the staff aren't always on their best behaviour, coming across as a bit offhand or uninterested, which could put a dampener on things if you're after that personal touch. Still, with such a strong overall rating, I'd say it's worth popping in if you're nearby – just keep your expectations in check for the service and you'll likely have a cracking time.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The atmosphere is absolutely buzzing, especially on Arsenal game days – it's a top spot to soak up the excitement and cheer with fellow fans.
-
They've got a great selection of well-priced beers and delicious pub grub, like succulent burgers from a local butcher and hearty Sunday roasts that hit the spot.
-
It's a welcoming place for a casual pint or a bite, with plenty of space inside and out, making it easy to relax without feeling crammed in.
Cons
-
Some of the staff can come across as rude or dismissive, which might spoil the vibe if you're hoping for a friendly chat while you're there.
-
There are occasional inconsistencies in service, as a few reviews mention it feeling a bit hit or miss depending on who's behind the bar.

First time in the area and we wanted something to eat and drink. It was just after midday, so after entering and then allowed in by the bar staff, we got a thatcher gold cider and pint of coke and sat at a table.
The pub wasn’t overly crowded and people were sitting outside
After about 45 minutes we decided to both have the steak baguette and chips
The food came up in reasonable time and was excellent, during this time there was only one bar staff lady. I think her name was Marianne ( I apologise if wrong). Keep her. She’s a bloody hard worker, as well as monitoring the door and taking drinks and food orders, she was bringing food out and cleaning and clearing tables. Huge credit the pub. Around 2pm. The pub started to get busy, with more and punters. Even had a doorman to keep check on numbers
If in the area would definitely visit. Robbie here we come
Looks Great, But Let Down by the Staff
The bar itself is fantastic – really well laid out, stylish, and clearly a great space to enjoy a drink. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end. The staff are consistently rude, dismissive, and act like they’re doing you a favour by serving you. There’s a clear attitude problem, and they make no effort to be welcoming or helpful.
It seems the only reason this place stays busy is because of the constant flow of new customers who haven’t experienced the poor service yet – not because people actually want to return. It’s a real shame, because with decent staff, this place could be excellent. As it stands, it’s scandalous how little they care. Won’t be rushing back.
This is the home Arsenal Bar on game days. People come here to watch the game breath into the atmosphere and enjoy their time together. It is a nice bar filled with good food and drinks. The beer is pretty good too. So if you feel like you need a place to go to. This is it 😀
We started using this pub on Sundays after a couple of years searching and experimenting with different venues.
Eventually we found it by talking to locals that did use The Quays in Holloway Road before it closed.
It is a pub, not a restaurant but it's the food that counts. A roast consists of a variety of vegetables mashed swede and potatoes, not just mashed blended with flavours, different greens again not just boiled, potato gratin, Yorkshire pudding and a very generous portion of Lamb or Beef which is perfectly cooked. It looks awe inspiring and is all beautifully cooked.
The staff are professionally trained in the traditional Irish way, pleasant but efficient. Order at the bar and adjust your dish there, no problems if you want some more of this or don't want that.
The food comes out and arrives at your table with everything you might need or requested, delivered politely with tables cleared promptly.
At £11:50 it's a good meal with value for money, drinks are reasonably priced
Great pub. All the beers and great, well priced, pub food. The burgers are very straight forward and based around a great beef patty from “Godfreys” a local butcher. Really succulent meaty burger with a generous side of chips for less than a tenner!
