About This Pub
Ah, The Tile Bar, it's one of those pubs that just feels like a warm hug when you walk in, tucked away on Smithhills Street in Paisley. From what I've gathered from the reviews and the overall buzz, it's got this wonderful old-school aesthetic with wooden beams and a clean, inviting space that makes you want to settle in for the night. The staff really shine here; they're helpful and create that genuine community spirit, whether it's Gary lending a hand or just a friendly chat that brightens your visit. Prices are a highlight too – inexpensive and fair, so you can enjoy a fresh pint or a dram without worrying about the tab. On the flip side, it can be pretty quiet sometimes, with no music playing, which is lovely for a peaceful catch-up but might not hit the spot if you're craving a bit more energy or a younger crowd. Still, with a solid 4.4 rating from folks who've been there, it's clear this place knows how to deliver a good time, and I'd say it's well worth supporting to keep these traditional spots alive. All in all, if you're after a relaxed pint in a welcoming environment, give The Tile Bar a go – you might just find your new favourite local.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, always making you feel right at home – it's like chatting with old mates behind the bar.
-
Prices are spot on for a good night out; you won't break the bank on drinks, with affordable pints and spirits that keep things accessible.
-
It has that classic old-school charm with wooden beams and a cosy atmosphere, perfect for a relaxed catch-up or enjoying a quiet pint.
-
The beer is top-notch, served fresh and in an interesting way, plus the pub is spotlessly clean, which is always a bonus.
-
There's a great community feel, full of interesting characters and a warm vibe that makes you want to come back again and again.
Cons
-
It can be quite quiet at times with no background music, which might not suit everyone if you're after a more lively, buzzing spot.
-
The crowd tends to be on the older side, so if you're looking for a younger, energetic crowd, it might feel a bit subdued.
-
With no website or online presence to speak of, it's not the easiest to check out menus or events in advance – you'd have to pop in to see what's on offer.

Great old style Paisley pub...with echoes of the original Tile Bar near the old Cart Walk in Paisley...
Good beer, good atmosphere, good service & full of good characters...
We need to ensure these precious gems survive... worth supporting !
Really cool “old school” aesthetic. Love the bar and the old wooden beams in the ceiling. No music and 4 punters in all , completely silent, can just hear a fan or somethings. The pub is exceptionally clean.
Pint is served in an unusual Guinness glass - at first I thought it was in a non Guinness glass. It’s king of fluted, unusual.
£4 (95p cheaper than next door (old Swann)). Great “domeage” and the head retention is decent, not the best but ok. Again taste is ok. Takes card, no issue
Barman is really nice. Good football chat, regulars coming in.
Cosy, warm bar. Great bar staff and manager. Older crowd, small and busy, excellent fresh pints and very cheap Jura Origin single malt whisky, Smirnoff vodka and a pub with 35ml measures.
