About This Pub
Ah, The Abbey Bar – it's one of those pubs in Paisley that you hear about and think, 'That sounds like a proper good night out.' From what I've gathered, it's got that welcoming feel with staff who can be absolute gems, chatting away and making everything feel relaxed. The drinks selection is spot on, with a nice variety of lagers and even some different brews to keep things interesting, and the prices are fair enough that you won't feel short-changed. Then there's the live music, which adds a real buzz, and don't forget the beer garden for when you fancy a breather outside. The food's another highlight – those steak pies and wings sound like they'd hit the spot after a long day. But, and I have to be straight with you, it's not all rosy; some recent chats from regulars suggest it's gone a tad downhill, with staff not always up to scratch and a few niggles like slippery floors in the bogs that could trip you up. Still, with an overall solid rating, I'd say it's worth popping in if you're nearby – just go in with your eyes open and you'll likely have a cracking time.

Used to be an amazing pub - fabulous staff and a great atmosphere. Has gone significantly downhill of late and would now avoid. Staff used to be lovely; Ursula, Lindsay and Paul particularly lovely. Have now employed people with zero customer skills who reject sober people due to “staggering in”. Zero people skills, no atmosphere and rude staff. AVOID AVOID AVOID - really sad to say given it used to be one of the best pubs in paisley and have spent lots of money there in the past. Employ better staff and we might come back!
First time at this pub and it did not disappoint, the staff were very friendly and a great selection of lager on display. I’ll definitely be back!!
Lots of live music in here different typs but most are very good. It can be very busy. Good friendly pub good staff, good prices. There is a Beer garden out the back.
I have gone to The Abbey 3 time last year on vacation and 3 more this year. I love the steak and Guinness pie and the chili wings. My wife usually opts for the soup and an entree (often the steak pie) The food is consistent but also fantastic. I'm sure our next visit to Scotland will include many trips to The Abbey!
Busy and friendly pub. Reasonable priced. Good range of drinks. The lager on draught was ok, only neck oil on tap that was a bit different. Bar staff, although friendly, did ignore the slip hazard that I identified in the gents toilet.
