About This Pub
Ah, The Three Jolly Wheelers – it's one of those pubs that really captures that classic British countryside charm, tucked away in Woodford Green and just a short hop from central London. I have to say, the staff stand out as absolute gems; they're so attentive and patient, whether you're deciding on a drink or just chatting away, which makes the whole experience feel relaxed and enjoyable. The food's got its stars too – things like the Cumberland cheese dip are just spot on, and there are solid options for vegetarians and those after hearty pub classics, plus it's fantastic if you're with your dog, as they truly roll out the welcome mat. The gardens and log fires add to that cosy atmosphere, perfect for a lazy afternoon or evening unwind. On the flip side, though, I've heard a few tales about the car park being a bit dodgy with thefts happening regularly, so it's worth being cautious if you're driving over. And while the menu's diverse, it might not thrill everyone, especially if you're after something a bit more adventurous – some meals are good, but others just pass muster. Overall, it's a solid choice for a get-together with mates, especially if you're exploring Epping Forest, but going in with realistic expectations will make for the best visit.

Cons

-
Some dishes are just okay rather than outstanding, so you might have a mixed experience depending on what you order.

I had a chicken burger which was just alright, but the Cumberland cheese dip was freaking amazing. Magnificent, really. The staff were really friendly and down to help for anything. Really appreciate for them for their time, patience and willingness. The vibe in the pub is very nice, not too loud.
This is a crime hotspot. Thieves come in to the car park *every* night, break in to all the vans and steal anything not nailed down. The car park security is inadequate. The thieves are brazen. It's been going on for years and nobody does anything about it. The van in my attached photo was broken in to at 8pm whilst parked 30yds from the entrance right underneath the CCTV cameras. It is NOT SAFE here.
I enjoyed everything else about the pub. The food was good though my pizza base was burnt to the point it had a bitter taste. And the staff were friendly. I just can't come back because of the car park issue.
We visited this establishment on new years eve 2024. We were visiting the UK and staying at a hotel very close by. The staff were very welcoming and friendly and the pub had a warm cosy feel to it. The menu was 3 course and was quite limited for me as a vegiterian. There were actually only 2 dishes I could choose from. Now I'm not going to lie, despite being well presented the food was terrible! All the vegetables had clearly been cooked hours before we arrived and then reheated making then very soggy and unpleasant. The children missed half of there starters and despite ordering a cheese board for desert , they could not provide me with a cheese knifes. Despite the bad food we had a lovely evening and the atmosphere was very pleasant. Great atmosphere, friendly and polite staff.. bad good !
A lovely pub with a brilliant attitude to dogs. All the staff were lovely and the food was too.
It says on their website that they are dog friendly, and I can confirm they absolutely are.
Lovely decor and a decent menu. There were good vegetarian options. We all had a super meal. I booked online 40mins before we got there, and I would recommend you do that.
There is free parking but you have to register your car when you arrive to ensure you don't get a ticket.
It's disabled friendly with ramps and slopes inside. I think a mobility scooter would struggle with some of the turns, but a wheelchair will have no issues. Disabled toilets were clean and well decorated. No radar key is required.
I would be very happy to return.
Very nice pub lunch. We booked a table for two for Saturday lunchtime, and it was just as well because the place filled up pretty quickly after we arrived. The staff were polite and attentive and didn't rush us when we were taking our time perusing the menu. We ordered the gammon and mac and cheese for mains and had the banoffee choux bun and chocolate fudge brownie for dessert. We both had a pint of beer each. The bill came to just under £60. They have free parking on site.
