About This Pub

You know, when I think about The Three Horseshoes, it really warms me up – it's that kind of pub where the staff greet you with a genuine smile and make you feel at ease right from the off. The food's a highlight; those massive portions are packed with flavour, whether it's a Sunday roast or something else on the menu, and it's all home-cooked without any of that frozen nonsense. Plus, the outdoor space is just lovely for a relaxed afternoon with friends. On the other hand, it's not all perfect – I noticed a few grubby spots here and there, like smudges on the mirrors and a coffee machine that hadn't seen a clean in a while, which took the edge off the otherwise welcoming atmosphere. Still, with the new team in charge, they're clearly keen to improve things, and overall, it's a solid spot for a good pint and a chat, as long as you go in with realistic expectations.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making every visit feel like catching up with old mates.
  • The pub is generally spotlessly clean, especially in the lounge and toilets, which adds to that cosy, well-kept vibe.
  • Food portions are massive and delicious – perfect for a satisfying meal that leaves you feeling chuffed.
  • There's a brilliant outdoor area, great for enjoying a drink in the fresh air on a nice day.
Cons
  • Some spots could use a proper tidy-up, like hand prints on mirrors or a coffee machine that looks a bit neglected.
  • They didn't have any ales on offer when new management took over, though they're working on sorting that out soon.

Lovely welcome from the bar manager and land lady as we walked in. The lounge bar and toilets were very clean. As the current land lady had just took over the running of the pub, there was no ales on offers. This is something that she is looking to get sorted in the not too distant future. Defo put this place on your list of pubs to visit when in the area. Good luck, Three Horseshoe's, see you again sometime!!

Recently taken over. Called in on a Saturday lunchtime. Wasn't particularly busy. Staff were very friendly and service was great. We only had a drink. The place was spotlessly clean. Will be a real asset to the area. Great outdoor area too

Welcomed by very kind polite and helpful staff. We Ordered our dinner and within 10-15 mins it was on the table. And well the portions was massive. The food was hot throughout and tasted delicious. 100% recommend and ill be going back.

First time visiting today and it will be our last… first impressions were that the place could do with a good clean. We were greeted by two big hand prints on the mirror as you walk in. We walked past the coffee machine which looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in months. We ordered two pints which cost £11.20! We sat down and noticed immediately the chairs were covered in crumbs and dog hair. The floor needed a good vacuum and mop. We went at lunch time, so there was no way it had been cleaned the night before / that morning. We were going to stop for lunch but the cleanliness put us off. We went to the toilet on the way out and they were just as bad. The toilet was dirty and stained, with the top coming away. The sink wasn’t even attached. Soap dispensers need replacing and make sure to go to the toilet in twos, you’ll need the other person to push the tap for you on the one sink the water actually works. Cleanliness is basics…

Had a good Sunday lunch. And was not expensive. Cant wait for the next one. I have just had a Christmas dinner, it was awesome and home cooked not out of a freezer. I wish I could give them another 5 stars.
