About This Pub
You know, I had a wander into The Theatre Workshop Bar the other day, and it's got this really welcoming feel to it, especially with its ties to the local theatre – makes for a bit of a cultural treat. The DJs on weekends are spot on, and the drinks are fairly priced, which is always a win when you're out for a relaxed evening or even a light dance. They've got these free events that add a nice buzz, and the staff are generally chuffed to help, sorting out problems without much fuss. On the flip side, though, the bar service can drag on, and they don't always pay attention to the queue, which might leave you standing there a while. Then there's the food – it can take forever to come out, and when it does, it's not always up to scratch, with some folks finding it bland and disappointing. All in all, it's worth popping in if you're nearby and up for the events, but maybe keep expectations in check for the service and grub. Still, it's a solid choice for a low-key night out in the area.

This place has such potential and was buzzing in the past but has gone a bit quieter lately. They have really good DJs on the weekend and drinks are reasonable. Come down and support especially if you're looking for a quiet drink or a sensible boogy on the weekends. I think there might also be salsa going on there too.
Lovely bar, great atmosphere. Bar service pretty slow and bar staff don't pay any attention to who is next. One time in particular i was served but the woman next to me was next, so i said she was next. The woman behind the bar then came back and served the person next to me who had just arrived! I said i was next and both women said no i wasn't. The same woman behind the bar who i had just spoken to and told someone else was before me. I just walked off. Terrible service like that doesn't deserve my money.
The food was fine - very tasty - but took far too long coming. We had to wait 40 minutes, which was not great, especially as we were at the theatre for a "relaxed" panto performance, with one autistic child and one aged six. We had to gobble our meal down in minutes and leave lots, so as not to miss the start of the show
This should be a zero star for the food, but you can't give a zero rating. . Went here last night, new Caribbean food started here, the food was awful. I would never go back. Absolutely no flavour. Who ever did the Caribbean food previously were 100% better, but this was extremely disappointing as i thought it was the previous Caribbean business, brought my friends along and so embarrassed.
Had a fabulous night there. Judi Jacobs and friend played lovers rock music all evening. People dancing at tables. Mostly females. Nice vibe. Free event drinks OK. Priced. Next time going to eat there. Food looked amazing. Staff are very friendly and problem solved something very quickly. Great place.
