About This Pub
Ah, The Tap N Tackle – it's one of those unpretentious pubs that you stumble upon in Castleford and end up returning to for its straightforward charm. I have to say, the vibe is spot on; it's lively without being overwhelming, and it's just the ticket for a relaxed evening with friends, chatting over a cracking pint of lager. The drinks are reasonably priced, which is always a winner, and if you're into sports, you'll appreciate having it on the screens. That said, it's not without its flaws – the place is on the small side, so it can get a bit cosy when the crowd builds up, and honestly, the toilets aren't always up to scratch, which can spoil the mood a touch. Still, it's got that authentic character that makes it feel like a proper local haunt, and overall, I'd recommend giving it a go if you're in the area; it's a solid choice for a no-fuss night out, as long as you go in with realistic expectations.
Pros and Cons

-
It's inexpensive, so you can enjoy good value drinks without worrying about the bill.
-
They've got a decent selection of beers and it's a solid place to catch the sports on the telly.
-
Despite its size, the pub has real character that gives it a unique, homely feel.
Cons
-
The toilets can sometimes have an unpleasant smell, which might put you off a bit.
-
It looks a tad rough around the edges, so it might not impress on a first visit.
-
Being smaller than most pubs, it can feel a bit cramped when it's busy.
-
It doesn't really stand out from other local spots; it's more about doing the basics well without any wow factor.

Brilliant pub. Really enjoyed it
This place was fine dosent really stand out from other places in the town but it does the job, plus you do get the sports in there.
This is a lively, friendly place, and good value.
Lovely pub , sometimes you can smell the piss from the toilets though.
It's smaller than most pubs but it's got great character and a good enough selection of drinks to choose from.
It might look and seem a bit rough if you visit for the 1st time but I'm from the area and not bothered by it , it might seem like it though if your posh or visiting from a posh area.
It's well worth a visit and a much better pub than the Glassblower on Bank Street.
A crackin pint of lager. Only came for a couple mid week whilst visiting the area but I'm sure I'll come to this place again. Quite lively as well for mid week....much more of an atmosphere that spoons on this particular night.
