About This Pub
Ah, The Swan Inn – it's one of those places that really hits the spot for a relaxed meal out with friends. From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, the food is a standout; folks rave about the flawless dishes and those tasty set menus that make you feel like you've got a proper treat without breaking the bank. The staff are just lovely, always on hand with a smile and quick service, which adds to that cosy, welcoming atmosphere. And let's not forget the spot's perks – easy parking and a scenic park nearby for a post-dinner wander, which is just ideal for a lazy afternoon. On the flip side, it's not all perfect; there've been a couple of complaints about inconsistent food, like some starters that didn't quite hit the mark, and portions that might leave you eyeing the menu for seconds. Plus, it can get a bit lively and noisy when it's packed, which might make deep chats a challenge. Overall, though, with a solid 4.6 rating, it's a gem worth trying – just go in with realistic expectations and you'll likely have a grand time.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The food here is absolutely top-notch – think delicious fish and chips or a lovely set menu that leaves you wanting to come back for more.
-
The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home even on a busy day.
-
It's got a great location with plenty of parking and a beautiful park just across the way, perfect for a stroll after your meal.
-
They offer some brilliant value deals, like the two-course lunch, which feels like a real bargain for what you get.
Cons
-
There have been a few slip-ups with food quality, like chewy beef or off salad leaves in some starters, which is a bit disappointing.
-
Portions can be on the small side, leaving you still a tad peckish after the main course.
-
It can get quite noisy when it's buzzing, making it hard to chat with your mates over a pint.
-
Some of the main dishes feel a bit pricey, especially if you're not going for one of their deals.

Had Father's day lunch/parents anniversary dinner here.
My first visit but would definitely go back for the food which was lovely, three course set menu and we were allowed to take our desserts home because we were stuffed😂
Busy day for the staff but they were all very welcoming and did not appear stressed when no doubt they must have been!
Cosy pub but worth a visit for a meal 👍🏻
Went for lunch today with my partner - had the starter and main as part of the deal they do. Food was absolutely flawless - had the ale battered fish and chips - cant recommend this highly enough, perfectly cooked and delicious. Great quick attentive service and friendly staff and a nice atmosphere. Will be back!
Recommended this place from a friend. I got Asian beef for starter which was chewy, salad leafs were off and discoloured, it was cold, they were not fresh. Sunday roast chicken for main nothing spectacular, was just a breast of chicken with a very small portion of mash and vegetables. I was still hungry after my starter and main.
My dad got the seafood stew, priced at quite an outrageous £22.95, which to me was the worst part of our experience, as the mussels were minuscule… and came only with one piece of bread. All stew no bread. No bowl to remove the shells or wipes to clean hands. I asked my dad if he got the seafood soup instead of stew because that’s what it seemed like!
Nice little place with potential, staff were attentive and couldn’t fault them, it’s a shame down to this experience I won’t be back
This is a lovely pub /restaurant and the food is delicious. The location is great too - plenty of parking and the park opposite is super for a post-lunch stroll.
The two course lunch represents good value, but the main courses on their own seem quite pricey. One small suggestion - perhaps offers more vegetarian-friendly options. The menu is very limited for vegetarians at the moment.
Food and service are great, just a wee bit noisy. It was quite hard to have a conversation with my friend when it was busy, as we couldn't hear each other, but it did get easier as it got quieter
