About This Pub
Ah, The Swan – it's one of those pubs that just wraps you up in its charm from the moment you step inside. I've got to say, the staff really stand out; they're so friendly and attentive, making every visit feel like you're catching up with pals rather than just grabbing a drink. The food is another winner – think hearty British dishes that are well-cooked and full of flavour, with options for a quick bite or something more substantial, all served efficiently. And let's not forget the atmosphere; it's got this rich history tied to artists and creatives, which adds a lovely touch of inspiration to your evening. Of course, it's not without its little niggles – the prices can add up if you're not careful, and the location in bustling Hammersmith means it might get a bit hectic at times, plus those operating hours could do with a bit more clarity. Overall, though, it's a gem of a spot that does pub life proud, and I'd happily recommend it for anyone looking for a proper, enjoyable night out in London.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The staff are absolutely lovely and welcoming, like chatting with old mates – special mentions for folks like Charlie and Matt who make you feel right at home.
-
The food is spot on, with tasty British classics like salmon on ciabatta and steak and ale pie that hit the spot, served up with generous portions and quick service via QR code ordering.
-
It's got this wonderful historic vibe in the heart of Hammersmith, full of artistic heritage that makes you feel inspired, perfect for a calm pint before heading to the theatre.
-
A great selection of beers, ales, wines, and spirits at fair prices, especially the rosé wines which come recommended for a relaxed evening.
-
The atmosphere is cozy and peaceful, with varied music that's not overwhelming, making it a brilliant spot for casual meet-ups or a quick lunch.
Cons
-
Prices are on the moderate side, so it might feel a tad pricey if you're just popping in for a simple drink and not splashing out on a full meal.
-
The operating hours seem a bit muddled in places, with varying times listed for Sundays, which could leave you scratching your head about when to drop by.
-
Being in a busy area like Hammersmith Broadway, it can get lively, and while it's generally calm, you might find it a bit crowded during peak times, which isn't ideal for everyone seeking total peace and quiet.

I stopped at this beautiful pub last night with friends and had a great experience. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, with a nice selection of ales on tap. Our server, Matt who turns out to be The Landlord was friendly and attentive, ensuring all guests in the pub were well looked after.
I would definitely recommend this beautiful pub.
We popped in a casual Friday afternoon and ordered fish and chips and stake and ale pie. We could order food and drink via QR code. The service was fast and food was tasty ,well cooked and seasoned. The serve a good portion. We absolutely loved it. It has a good athmosphere. We paid about 45-50 póz de with drinks.
One of my favourite gastro pubs in this part of London (if not the most favourite one).
Greatly created menu. Some stuff (like sandwiches) are great choice for a quick lunch.
Good selection of beer, like for a pub wide selection of spirits. Good price for those having wine - I recommend rose wines.
Like most of the Nicholson’s great atmosphere of British pub culture with a good and consistent selection of food and bites.
