About This Pub
Ah, The Sun – it's one of those pubs that really knows how to put on a show with its drag acts and karaoke, and from what I've gathered from the reviews, it's a welcoming place where you can kick back with mates over cheap drinks and have a laugh. The staff often get a thumbs up for being friendly and making everyone feel included, which is spot on for a good night out in Bradford. But, let's be straight, it's not all roses; there are times when the service can turn a bit sour, like if you're just trying to cheer on a performer and end up getting a telling-off, which feels a bit unfair. Plus, the toilets are in need of a proper sort-out – nobody wants to deal with that mid-evening. And if you're popping by, remember it's only open a few days a week, so check ahead. Overall, it's worth a visit if you're after fun on a budget, but go in with your eyes open to the rough patches, and you'll likely have a top time.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-

-
It's a brilliant spot for entertainment, with fun drag acts and karaoke nights that really get the vibe going.
-
Drinks are super affordable, so you can enjoy a good night without breaking the bank.
-
The atmosphere is inclusive and lively, perfect for a great time with friends, and they're pretty accommodating if you're a wheelchair user.
Cons
-
Some staff can be a bit rude or overly strict, like getting told off for showing enthusiasm during a performance, which can spoil the fun.
-
The toilets are in a sorry state – not very hygienic at all, which puts a damper on things.
-
Accessibility isn't perfect everywhere, as you might run into tight spots that could be tricky for wheelchairs.
-
It's only open a few days a week, so you have to plan around that, which might not suit everyone.

Had a nightout with my partner. Met some lovely people. Excellent drag act but the night was spoilt when we were told off for congratulating the amazing performance. Apparently you can't "wolf whistle" at an amazing and gorgeous entertainer, it wasn't a wolf whistle!!
The staff was rude and made it obvious they didn't want our kind in there. Avoiding in future!
A nice warm welcome from the staff/drag and doorman. It was a karaoke night and not busy, I just arrived at 9.30pm but perhaps it will pick up later. I stopped for one drink and very cheap. Perhaps it was quieter as it’s a Thursday???. Would return
Best place to go for a drink in my opinion. Always a fun night.
First time in the sun 31/8/24 and had a fab night. Staff were wonderful, I'm a wheelchair user and we're very accommodating, just don't try take ur chair through 1st door at toilet as u will get stuck like I did lol.
Whether ur day or straight u will be welcomed by both staff and patrons and on plus side the booze is very reasonably priced. Marigold as Cher was amazing, looking forward to seeing Vicki Vivacious. Would recommend
Love the place its cheap and cheerful, it needs a big revamp, toilets are very un hygienic, but music and atmosphere brilliant.
