About This Pub
Ah, The Star Inn – it's one of those proper pubs that just warms your heart the moment you step inside. From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, this place has been a staple in Salford since 2009, proudly co-operatively owned and serving up a fantastic array of real ales and reasonably priced drinks that keep everyone coming back. The reviews are full of praise for the welcoming feel, with locals making newcomers feel right at ease, and there's loads to enjoy like pool, darts, and catching the footie on the telly, plus that sunny beer garden for a bit of fresh air. It's got this authentic, community spirit with regular events like folk nights and quizzes that really bring people together. On the flip side, it's not the easiest place to stumble upon, being on a cobbled back street, and the hours mean it's more of an afternoon and evening spot rather than somewhere for a midday pint. Still, if you're after a genuine, unpretentious pub experience with a nod to tradition, I'd say it's well worth seeking out – just pop it in your satnav and give it a go!

Cons

It's tucked away on a quiet back street, which means it can be a bit tricky to find if you're not familiar with the area.

Opening hours start in the afternoon most days, so it's not ideal if you're after a quick lunch-time drink.
-
The place can feel quite quiet at times, which might not appeal if you're in the mood for a bustling, energetic crowd.

“A hidden gem tucked away on a quiet street in Salford. We found it by chance and it was a great surprise. The locals are incredibly friendly and made us feel right at home. There's a pool table, a lovely terrace, the beers are very reasonably priced and pet friendly. Authentic, welcoming atmosphere — we’ll definitely be back!”

Cosy pub. They have sky sports etc and can show two different games at the same time and have a decent English pool table 👍
Very quiet back street community owned pub , friendly staff good range of beer and reasonable prices. Welcomes visiting fans to the local Salford fc.
Well worth seeking this urban community-owned pub out. Now serving beer brewed up the road by the ever dependable Brightside Brewing Company. A truly great back-street local which are so difficult to find these days - enjoy the experience whilst you can 🍺👍🏻
Friendly atmosphere and very friendly bartender, kind of a social club / working men's feel to it. Great price value and a good outdoor space too
