About This Pub
Oh, The Sportsman – it's one of those pubs that sounds like a right treat based on the reviews I've seen. From what folks are saying, it's got this welcoming, friendly feel with staff like Steve the landlord going above and beyond to make sure everyone's happy. You can expect a decent pint of well-kept lager and even a brilliant breakfast to kick things off, all in a space that's clean, spacious, and packed with character, like those football flags that give it a lively touch. It's spot on for a casual drop-in, open all day with plenty going on, and it's easy to find on the main road with takeaways nearby for a quick bite. But, and I hate to say it, it looks like it might be shut right now, and with no operating hours listed, it's hard to know when to pop by. The website's playing up too, which makes me wonder if it's getting the attention it deserves. Still, if you catch it on a good day, it'd be a top spot for a relaxed pint and some good craic – just keep an eye out for those potential hiccups to avoid any letdowns.

The staff is great and friendly. The room was spacious and clean. It was on the main road so easy to find, and the pub down stairs with great beers. There are plenty of take away food place just a 2 min walk.
Cracking real pub. Full of character and characters! Great well kept lager selection and friendly bar staff. Sort of pub you call in for one and stagger out at closing.
