About This Pub
Oh, The Society Rooms in Stalybridge is one of those reliable Wetherspoon haunts that you can pop into for a straightforward, no-fuss good time. I really appreciate how everything's so affordable – it's ideal for when you're out with friends and don't want to splash out too much, yet still enjoy a decent pint or a meal. The staff come across as friendly and on top of things, and that free refill on hot drinks is a cheeky bonus that always puts a smile on your face. From the reviews, it sounds like the atmosphere is generally relaxed, making it a comfy spot for a chat or just unwinding after a long day. But, let's be honest, it's not all perfect; some folks have mentioned that the food can be hit or miss, with burgers in particular not living up to expectations, which is a shame when you're looking forward to a proper feed. And on weekends, it might get a bit too lively for some tastes, with the noise picking up, so if you're after something quieter, you might want to plan accordingly. All in all, it's a solid choice if you're after value and a casual vibe, but keep those little niggles in mind for a balanced night out.

Cons
-
Some dishes, like the burgers, have let people down with their quality, which can be a bit disappointing after a hype.
-
It can get quite lively and rowdy on weekends, so if you're after a peaceful evening, it might not be the best pick.
-
Wait times for food can stretch to 20-30 minutes, especially when it's busy, which might put a dampener on things.

Food is always fantastic, and it's great to have a free hot beverage refill. Never too long to wait no matter what time of day you visit. Very relaxed atmosphere.
I came, I ate, I drank and I left. It’s what I expected so not surprised, great affordable food and drink but not of any quality. Lesson learnt, again.
As a retired person,I love going out ,and finding and trying wetherspoons, in various towns ,it's always a nice day out ,good food ,and drink ,larger or real ale, nice polite staff,I don't no HOW MR WETHERSPOON does it ,cheep n cheerful.
Nice wait staff, food takes about 20 - 30 minutes depending on how crowded it is (which is to be expected). Prices on alcohol is extremely reasonable. It gets very rowdy during the weekend but that's not a problem as fights barely happen. 10/10 would go again
The staff were great. It’s lively enough and the beer is good. They used to have amazing burgers here and the curry or burger deal and a pint was second to none.
What the hell have you done WP. If this isn’t the most depressing burger I have ever seen I don’t know what it.
The burger however was finally upstaged by the dessert which resembled the presents a dog would leave at the bottom of the garden after raiding the chocolate cupboard.
