About This Pub
Ah, The Snug Bar in St Albans – it's one of those places that just feels like a warm hug when you step inside, tucked away in a historic building with loads of character from its past. I have to say, the cocktails are a real highlight; they're fresh, inventive, and presented with such flair that you can't help but feel impressed. The staff are absolute stars too, always up for a chat and making sure everyone has a good time, which really adds to the welcoming vibe. That outdoor garden is another winner, especially with the heaters keeping things toasty in the colder months – it's just the spot for a relaxed evening. And don't forget their daily happy hour; it's a savvy little perk that makes popping in for a drink feel like a treat rather than a splurge. On the flip side, though, it can be a bit hit or miss on weekdays when things quiet down, leaving you with that awkward silence that makes you wish for a bit more buzz. The prices might sting if you're not timing it right, and being closed mid-week does limit your options if you're out and about during the week. Plus, every so often, you might run into some less than ideal behaviour from others, which is a shame because it detracts from what could be a perfect night. Overall, it's a solid choice for a lively get-together on the weekends, but I'd suggest planning around the busier times to get the best out of it – trust me, it's worth it for those moments when everything clicks.
Pros and Cons

They offer a happy hour every day, which is a brilliant touch and makes it easier on the wallet for a cheeky tipple.
-
The atmosphere is lively with DJs and musicians creating great vibes, especially on those late nights from Thursday to Saturday.
Cons
-
It can feel a tad quiet and unwelcoming on weekdays, turning what should be a relaxed evening into something a bit awkward.
-
The drinks are on the pricey side if you don't catch happy hour, which might put a dent in your plans for a big night out.
-
It's closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, so you're a bit stuck if you're looking for a mid-week gathering.
-
Every now and then, you might encounter some rowdy behaviour from others, which can spoil the mood despite the staff's efforts.

Fantastic service from Cameron. He made stunning cocktails with beautiful presentation. Service with a smile .
I had a great time at the snug. The garden was plentiful and nicely decorated. I want to shout out Josh especially, he was full of pizazz and delightful overall. Would go again! Love from the Rog.
This bar is absolutely amazing. The cocktails were very delicious and made to perfection. Service was also great however it wasn't very welcoming on a weekday. Too quiet that if felt very awkward. Would love to go back on a busier day and give it a better review
Went to the snug with a friend for some drinks, the girl who made and served the drinks ((with glasses)) was lovely, so friendly had a chat!! But unfortunately there were some young boys having wildly offensive conversations rather loudly. We were outside and one of the workers was passing by we reported this to him. Josh was lovely and very receptive of our concerns, security was alerted and eventually the boys were removed from the premises. Throughout this ordeal Josh checked up on us and updated us on the situation. The staff were brilliant including the security staff and the communication and management throughout! They made all the women feel safe and understood our concerns. So 5**** for Josh and everything he did thank you !!!!
Went for cocktails, although a bit expensive if you're not going at happy hour.
The staff we're very friendly and the cocktails were well made.
