About This Pub

Ah, let me tell you about The Sir Tom Finney Pub – it's one of those places that just feels like a proper local gem in Penwortham. From the reviews I've had a look at, the staff really stand out; they're incredibly friendly and go out of their way to make sure everyone has a good time, which is always a winner when you're out for a pint or a meal. It's especially great for families, with themed nights and all sorts of activities that keep things entertaining, plus there's a park nearby for the little ones to burn off some energy. The food gets plenty of praise too – think hearty portions and nice deals during the week that make it feel like good value. On the downside, while the recent buzz is all positive, that overall rating of 4.3 hints there might be the odd slip-up or busier times when service isn't quite as smooth. Still, it's a solid choice for a relaxed evening; I'd say give it a go if you're in the area, as it's got that warm, community feel that makes you want to come back for more.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are absolutely brilliant and so welcoming, always ready with a smile and a warm hello that makes you feel right at home.
  • It's a fantastic spot for families, with loads of activities for the kids and a park just across the road, making it ideal for a relaxed day out.
  • They've got themed nights and special offers throughout the week, which keeps things lively and gives you plenty of reasons to pop in regularly.
  • The food is spot on – generous portions and tasty options, even the kids' meals are a hit, and the drinks are always well poured.
  • The atmosphere is just lovely, a proper local pub in a nice area where you can enjoy a decent pint and good company without any fuss.
Cons
  • The overall rating sits at 4.3, suggesting there might be the occasional off day or mixed experiences that aren't showing up in the recent feedback.
  • From the data, the operating hours look a bit muddled, which could confuse things if you're planning a visit, though it's open seven days a week.

Amazing food as always. Tuesday to Friday there are different offers on and kids meals are great too, even I'd be happy with the size of one of the kids meals. I had bread and butter pudding too and that was really nice.
