About This Pub

Oh, Stickyweeds is one of those hidden gems that you stumble upon and think, 'Why haven't I been here sooner?' It's got this cosy, homely feel that makes you want to linger over a cuppa and a slice of cake. The coffee's top-notch – strong and smooth, paired with some seriously good bakes that cater to all sorts of tastes, including gluten-free and veggie options, which is always a plus if you're watching what you eat. The staff are an absolute joy; they're so chatty and attentive, it really adds to the welcoming atmosphere, whether you're popping in alone or with the family – and they've got things like kids' menus and toys to keep everyone happy. It's cyclist and dog-friendly too, which is great for those weekend outings. On the flip side, it's a bit limited with its hours, closing up shop in the afternoon, so it's not the place for a night out. And being in a quiet residential spot, parking might take a minute to sort out. All in all, though, it's a smashing spot for a daytime breather, and I'd definitely recommend giving it a go if you're in the Preston area – just manage your expectations if you're after something more pub-like.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The coffee is absolutely spot on – rich and flavoursome, just what you need for a proper pick-me-up.
  • Their cakes are a real treat; think homemade delights that leave you wanting more, with plenty of options for vegetarians and gluten-free folks.
  • The staff are so warm and welcoming, always ready with a smile and helpful advice, making every visit feel like catching up with old friends.
  • It's got a lovely, relaxed atmosphere that's perfect for a casual chat or a quiet read, with outdoor seating for those sunny days.
  • They're super family-friendly with a children's menu, toys, and even books to keep the little ones entertained.
  • Accessibility is well sorted with wheelchair ramps and parking nearby, plus it's cyclist and dog-friendly, which is brilliant for outdoor types.
  • The loyalty card system is a nice touch – collect stamps for a free hot drink, encouraging you to pop back regularly.
Cons
  • It's only open until the early afternoon, so if you're looking for a spot for evening drinks or a late supper, you'll have to look elsewhere.
  • Parking can be a bit of a faff in this residential area; you'll need to be mindful of the neighbours and might end up walking a short way.
  • As a coffee shop rather than a traditional pub, there doesn't seem to be any alcohol on offer, which might disappoint if you're in the mood for a pint.

Had an absolutely wonderful lunch. There was eight of us and they were extremely helpful seating us together. The food was delicious and the cakes were excellent. We all agreed we’d be back if we were ever in the area.

Friendly service and lovely homely cafe vibes. There’s plenty to purchase like cards and aprons dotted around the cafe. There’s a variety of cakes which me and mum enjoyed, our spread came just over £13 which is very reasonable. There’s plenty of seating as well as outdoor seating. The staff were very friendly and served with a smile, in all a lovely little cafe to visit!
