About This Pub

Ah, The Shamrock – it's one of those neighbourhood pubs that really pulls you in with its friendly vibe and straightforward charm. From what I've gathered from the reviews, it's a top choice for anyone popping in for a pint while catching the game on one of the several TVs; folks like Tom and Neil raved about the lively atmosphere and how the drinks are bang on for the price. The service stands out too – Piotr mentioned perfect service with ice-cold lagers, and it's clear the team knows how to make you feel welcome. On the flip side, though, there's that nasty review from Lewis about a hygiene blunder that sounds well dodgy, which is a real shame and something to watch out for if you're fussy about that sort of thing. Overall, with a solid 4.3 rating, it's got more highs than lows, but I'd say it's best for a relaxed evening rather than anything fancy. If you're in Watford and after a no-nonsense spot to unwind, give it a go – just keep your expectations realistic and you'll likely have a good time.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The atmosphere is spot on, especially if you're into watching sports – plenty of TVs to catch the match.
  • Service is warm and welcoming; the staff always seem to have a smile, making you feel right at home.
  • Drinks are reasonably priced, with decent pints and perfectly chilled lagers that hit the spot.
  • It's a great little spot for a casual meet-up, and the overall vibe keeps things lively without being overwhelming.
Cons
  • There was that one off-putting incident with hygiene, like using a half-drunk bottle of Coke for drinks – definitely not ideal.
  • Some uncertainty around the place's current status, as it might not always be as reliably open as you'd hope.
  • Reviews show it's not perfect, with the odd disappointing experience that could put some folks off.

Met some fellow supporters on route to a match at Watford. Nice atmosphere. Sport on several tvs and a decent pint to boot. Pleasant lady serving all the patrons with a smile on her face. If I lived local, this would be my go to bar.

Awful pub needs to be shut down. I went in for a quick drink a double jd and coke , when I ordered it there was a half full bottle of coke on the sie that someone had been drinking and the barman asked if it was OK if he used that . Wouldn't go back if it was the last pub on earth would rather drink white lightning on a park bench
