About This Pub

Ah, The Scotsman – it's one of those pubs that really grows on you once you step inside. From what I've gathered chatting about it, the food steals the show; we're talking authentic Punjabi flavours that are spot-on and served in massive portions, making it a brilliant choice for a hearty meal without spending a fortune. The staff are absolute gems, always up for a laugh and quick to sort you out, which adds to that cosy, community feel it's built on over the last 50 years. It's got all the classics too, like SkySports blaring for the footy and pool tables for a bit of fun, so it's perfect if you're after a lively spot to unwind. On the flip side, though, there've been a couple of dodgy experiences shared, like that awful incident with something unhygienic in the food – it's rare, but it does highlight that things aren't always flawless. Plus, getting there might be a bit of a trek if you're not local, with parking woes and a walk from the station. Overall, I'd say it's worth a visit for the good times it offers, but go in with your eyes open and maybe check recent feedback first – it's all about balancing the brilliant with the bits that need sorting.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The food is absolutely spot on – think succulent seekh kebabs, massive mixed grills, and delicious Punjabi dishes that leave you wanting more, all at really reasonable prices.
  • The staff are so friendly and efficient; they make you feel right at home, whether you're popping in for a quick pint or settling in for the evening.
  • It's got a great vibe with SkySports on the telly, pool tables, and a nicely decorated space that's perfect for catching up with friends or watching the match.
  • With over 50 years under its belt, it's a proper community hub in Southall, run by a family who's clearly passionate about what they do.
  • Portions are generous and the drinks are well-priced, making it ideal for a big group get-together without breaking the bank.
Cons
  • There have been some horror stories, like one instance where something unsanitary turned up in the food – that's a real shame and could put some folks off.
  • The location's a bit tricky; it's not right on the main road, so parking can be a faff and it's a good walk from the station.
  • Experiences can vary – while most visits are brilliant, a few reviews mention it feeling a bit hit or miss with service or overall consistency.
  • It might not suit everyone if you're after a quiet spot, as it can get busy and lively, especially during big sports events.

Great Night at Scotsman Pub, Southall Dropped by Scotsman Pub recently and was genuinely impressed. The place has a good energy — busy but not overwhelming, with a local charm that makes you feel right at home. What really stood out was the service. Sania looked after our table and honestly, she made the whole experience better. Super friendly, quick with orders, and just had a great vibe about her. You don’t always get that kind of service, so it deserves a shout-out. 🙌 Good drinks, decent crowd, and just a solid spot overall. If you’re around Southall and want a reliable pub with great staff — this is it. Will definitely be back. 🍺

Continues to provide a high standard of culinary delights and libations. The seekh kebabs are succulent and kararey. Parotey have the right balance of crispness and doughiness.

The Scotsman Pub offers a mixed experience, balancing good service and entertainment with a few drawbacks. One of its strongest points is the bartenders, who are friendly and efficient, ensuring that customers receive their drinks quickly and with a smile. Their service adds to the pub’s appeal, making it a welcoming spot for casual drinks. For those who enjoy a bit of recreation, the pool table is a definite plus. It provides a fun distraction and helps create a relaxed, social vibe. The pub also has a unique theme, which adds a bit of character, though it might not be elaborate enough to be a major draw. A standout feature is the Royal Enfield Classic 350 showcased in the pub, which serves as a cool conversation starter and adds to the venue’s charm. However, the experience is let down by a few key aspects. The music selection is underwhelming, failing to enhance the atmosphere and, at times, even detracting from it. Parking is another major issue, with limited options making it inconvenient for those driving in. The food is just okay—not bad, but not particularly memorable either. Unfortunately, the overall atmosphere is also lacking, feeling less lively than one would hope. Despite its shortcomings, The Scotsman Pub remains a decent spot for a drink, especially if you appreciate good service and a chance to play pool. However, those looking for a great ambiance and top-tier food might want to explore other options.

I wish I could give zero stars. We had an absolutely disgusting experience at this restaurant. Our order arrived with a used bandage in the food—yes, you read that right. Completely unacceptable and beyond unsanitary. We immediately contacted the restaurant and Just Eat, expecting a full refund for such a horrifying issue. Instead, Just Eat refused to issue a full refund, which is shocking given the circumstances. We didn’t eat a single bite—we returned everything untouched, and the restaurant replaced the order. But after finding a used bandage in our food, how could we trust the new order? This is a serious health and safety violation, and the lack of accountability from both the restaurant and Just Eat is appalling. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone unless you enjoy surprise “ingredients” in your meal. AI assisted writing but all events and sentiments given are true, and approved.

Excellent Desi pub with hefty, tasty portions. It’s a bit out of a way from the main road and about 15 mins walk from the station. Parking is a bit iffy too. But the food is fantastic. Inexpensive. Generous portions. Good flavours. Giant naans. Ginormous mixed grills. Great for a big group. Pints and drinks are reasonably priced. Great service.
