About This Pub
Ah, The Royal Standard – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper British gem, tucked away in Wooburn Green near High Wycombe. From what I've gathered from folks who've been there, it's spot on for anyone craving a good pint of real ale or a chilled Guinness; the selection is bang on, and it's clear they take pride in keeping things top quality. The food's another winner – think hearty, home-cooked dishes that leave you satisfied, with rave reviews about the chicken wings and a solid menu that's great value. The staff are an absolute delight, always up for a chat and making sure everything runs smoothly, which really adds to that cosy, beamed interior that harks back to the good old days. It's brilliant for a laid-back afternoon with mates, especially if you've got a dog in tow or fancy some fresh air on the outdoor seating. On the flip side, though, it's a bit of a shame that food isn't available every day – you'll have to check the times for Mondays and Sundays to avoid disappointment. And while it's charmingly traditional, it might not wow you if you're in the mood for something a tad more contemporary. All in all, it's a solid choice for a relaxed pub crawl; just pop in with an open mind, and you're in for a treat.

Dog-friendly setup with good outdoor seating, making it ideal for a relaxed day out in the countryside.
Cons

It has that classic, old-school charm, but it could feel a bit dated if you're after something more modern or trendy.

Love visiting the Standard when I can, you will always get a dam good pint of the black stuff, nice chilled Guinness and to top that the chicken wings are the best.
Great pub food with a very good selection of beers and other drinks.
A proper traditional British pub, sadly there's not many of these left now. Real ale quality and selection is first class and great variety of food at sensible prices.
Went today with a load of friends for a Christmas lunch preorder if you want Christmas menu but ordinary menu and specials board also for those that didn't want Christmas
