About This Pub

Ah, The Royal Oak – it's one of those classic pubs that you stumble upon and think, 'This could be a hidden gem.' From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, the staff are an absolute delight, always up for a chat and making everyone feel like part of the gang, which really adds to that warm, community feel. The prices are spot on too; you can enjoy a decent pint without worrying about the cost, and it's brilliant for casual meet-ups or even lively events where the atmosphere just lifts your spirits. On the downside, though, there are a few things that could do with some attention – like the toilets not always being up to scratch, which might make you think twice about lingering too long. Overall, it's a solid spot for a relaxed evening in Blackpool, but it's not without its rough edges, so I'd say go in with an open mind and you'll likely have a good time.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home as soon as you walk in.
  • Prices are spot on for a good night out – affordable drinks that won't empty your wallet.
  • It has a lovely, homely atmosphere that's perfect for relaxing with a pint or catching up with mates.
  • Great for social events, like charity days, where the community spirit really shines through.
Cons
  • Hygiene can be an issue in the toilets, like running out of soap, which puts a bit of a dampener on things.
  • Some parts of the pub feel a tad outdated, as if it hasn't had a full refresh in a while.

Loved every second of our time there. It was a charity day and the way everyone pitched in was perfect. Local or not this place is top notch. No air's and graces just as it should be. We will be back. Our 6 year old son danced the day away on the dance floor and the people were very friendly. Our kind of pub.

Wow! This pub must of been a gem in its heyday. Just wow. It still has a room for pool and a room snooker room. The staff are fantastic, really friendly. The regulars are a great bunch of characters and make it a great place for people watching. Beer is the usuals thats priced at a friendly level. I must get back here when they have a band on as it's an amazing space that must sound equally amazing. Not to say this is a loud pub. It isn't. You could easily come in here with your dog and the racing post and have lovely afternoon. Worth a visit and definitely gets a thumbs up from me.
