About This Pub

Ah, The Royal Falcon – it's one of those pubs that really knows how to put on a good show, isn't it? From what I've gathered from the reviews, it's got this infectious energy with karaoke nights and live entertainment that make for memorable evenings. The prices are a real winner too; you won't break the bank for a round, and the beer garden is just brilliant with its sea views and cosy heated spots – perfect for a sunny afternoon or a chilled evening. Plus, the staff come across as genuinely welcoming, and those freebies like the jukebox and pool table add a nice touch of fun. On the flip side, though, if you're eyeing up the rooms for a stay, it's worth noting that the lively events can make it a bit noisy, so it might not be the best for a peaceful night's sleep. And parking? Well, that's a bit of a faff with no dedicated spots, meaning you're left to the mercy of the streets. Oh, and food-wise, it's not all smooth sailing; a few folks mentioned dishes coming out burnt, which is a pity when you're hoping for something tasty to go with your drink. All in all, it's a solid choice for a great night out in Lowestoft, as long as you go in with your eyes open to the quirks – I'd say it's worth a visit for the vibe alone, but maybe plan ahead for those potential downsides.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The atmosphere is absolutely buzzing, especially with the karaoke and live music nights that make for a fantastic evening out.
  • Prices are spot on – you'll find some of the best value drinks in Lowestoft, making it a wallet-friendly spot for a pint or two.
  • The beer garden is a real gem, offering stunning sea views, heated seating areas, and plenty of room to relax.
  • Friendly staff who go the extra mile, and perks like a free jukebox and pool table add to the fun without costing a penny.
  • Drinks are served just right, with the perfect temperature and a welcoming vibe that keeps you coming back.
Cons
  • If you're thinking of staying in one of the rooms, it can get quite noisy with live football, karaoke, and music events going on.
  • Parking is a bit of a headache – there's none on site, so you'll have to hunt for street spots, which might not be ideal after a few drinks.
  • Food quality can be hit or miss; for instance, some dishes like burgers have come out overcooked, which is a shame when you're looking for a proper meal.
  • The place might feel a tad quiet at times, depending on when you visit, so it could be hit or miss for a lively crowd.

It's a pub with rooms and as far as I can tell not a hotel (no rhyme intended). If your thinking on staying in a room please be aware that it can be very noisy as they show live football, have karaoke, and sometimes live music, parking is a real problem as there is none, you can park on the street but with restrictions this isn't really an option as several people I know have got parking tickets, even when you can park as it's in a residential area these spaces are snapped up.

Went there for lunch, before Driving home, to the Midlands. The Royal Falcon has the look and feel of a up market establishment. Drinks were spot on and served 👌 at the right temperature, Then we ordered something to eat, Smashed Burger and fries, and Fish and chips. The Burger was Burnt, and inedible, The fish was over cooked and there was very little fish in the crispy batter, We sent the Burger Back, only to receive what looked like the same Burger 10 minutes later ,which we also rejected. The server said when we complained (That the Burger was not burnt , But crispy) Very Disappointed with the Kitchen. Letting down a very nice establishment.

Great evening here with the legend Dave. Was a bit quiet, but the scenery was spoiling my view of the beach. Quick tip is leave the bar tenders your change for fast service and because they deserve it. Another of potential and free pool table
