About This Pub
Oh, you know, if you're popping down to Bath for a pint or a bite, The Ram is one of those places that just feels right – it's got this warm, community vibe that's hard to beat. I love how it's not just a straightforward pub; it transforms into a cafe during the day with fresh, tasty grub from the Bath Deli Co., and then kicks into gear in the evenings with live music, sports on the telly, and those entertaining quiz nights that always get everyone involved. The beers are spot on, with a great range that includes some proper local ales, and the food's a cut above – think hearty pasties and salads that leave you satisfied. But, let's be honest, it's not perfect; the music can crank up a notch too high, which might spoil a quiet catch-up, and the prices do add up, so it's worth checking your wallet first. Still, for a solid night out or a casual stop-off, it's a winner – especially if you're after that friendly, unpretentious atmosphere that makes you want to linger a bit longer. All in all, it's a place I'd recommend for a balanced mix of relaxation and excitement, as long as you go in with the right expectations.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making every visit feel like catching up with old mates.
-
A cracking selection of beers and delicious food, like that amazing lamb pasty, which really hits the spot.
-
Lively entertainment with live music, sports screenings, and fun quiz nights that keep things buzzing without it feeling overwhelming.
-
It's got a relaxed, not-too-crowded vibe, especially during the day when it doubles as a cosy cafe, perfect for a chilled afternoon.
Cons
-
The live music can get a bit too loud at times, making it tricky to have a proper chat over your pint.
-
Prices are on the steeper side, like that £16.95 meal, which might feel a tad pricey for what you get.
-
It's located a bit out of the city centre, so you might have to plan a bit more if you're coming from the main hustle and bustle.

Really nice pub on the outskirts of the centre of Bath. Really friendly staff who clearly had a great relationship with the locals too. Lots of friendly conversations and banter made for a welcoming atmosphere.
Feels a little more gentrified compared to my previous visit 20 years ago. Welcoming atmosphere out of the City centre. Good range of ales, I had Sussex Best and Mad Goose.
Great pub. Nice beer. Friendly staff. Not over crowded. And next to the launderette. An awesome place to wait while your clothes are washed.
We have been in this pub a few times over the many visits to Bath. This time we had a bottle of wine on Friday night before going back to the hotel. They had live band on, they were pretty good, but doesn't have to be as loud, because it's hard to have a conversation. And one of the band members parked in the disabled bay outside the Indian Restaurant a few doors down, good job we didn't have our elderly mother in law with us, because he took the space (just unbelievable). We went back on Saturday morning to try their breakfast. Eggs Benedict and also poached eggs on smashed avocado. Both were nice, but nothing to special. The only issue in that particular area is the 4G signal is a hit and miss and the Pubs WiFi is simply not useable.
Excellent Food.
Cool Jazz sound track.
Amazing Lamb Pasty.
Incredible salad.
Nice atmosphere, no noisy folk
What's not to like?
I realise some might baulk at £16.95 for hot pasty, salad & tea.
But for this quality and ambience.
Worth every penny.
