About This Pub

Ah, The Railway Tavern in Falkirk is one of those timeless pubs that really captures the spirit of a good old Scottish local. From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, the staff are usually spot on – always up for a bit of banter and keeping things cheerful, which makes you feel right at home. It's packed with fun activities like pool, darts, and even dominoes, so if you're in the mood for some light-hearted competition, this is your go-to. The drinks are sensibly priced too, meaning you can settle in for the evening without breaking the bank, and they've got a lively vibe with cracking music and karaoke that gets everyone involved. Plus, it's a welcoming spot for dog owners, which adds a nice community feel. On the flip side, there was that one off experience where someone found the service a tad brusque, like they were in the way, so it might not be perfect every time. And while it's stood the test of time, a few areas do look like they could use a spruce-up to keep things fresh. All in all, it's a solid choice for a relaxed pint and a laugh, but keep in mind it doesn't do food, so plan accordingly if you're peckish.

Pros and Cons

  • It's got all the classic pub games like pool, darts, and dominoes, perfect for a fun night in.
  • Drinks are reasonably priced, so you can enjoy a pint or two without worrying about the cost.
  • The atmosphere is lively with great music and karaoke sessions, ideal for a laugh and some Xmas partying.
  • It's dog-friendly, which is a lovely touch if you're popping in with your four-legged mate.
Cons
  • Service can sometimes fall short, with one account of a barmaid being a bit snappy and not very welcoming.
  • Some areas of the pub could do with a fresh coat of paint to make it feel more inviting.
  • They don't serve food, so you'll have to head elsewhere if you're after a bite to eat.

Great staff and good for a laugh, always keep themselves busy but have time to talk to the average punter. Good music as well as a pool table Great pub that has stood the test of time well.

Alright place in a good location, but the barmaid was extremely snappy, barely available and did not make one feel welcome. Mainly like we were a nuisance that were too loud for cheering after winning a card game...
