About This Pub

So, I was thinking about Btw the other day – it's this lovely spot in Falkirk that's got a real charm to it, with a solid 4.4 rating from folks who've been there. The food is brilliant, like those amazing meals and cocktails that everyone raves about, and the portions are generous enough to make any meal feel special. It's a great place for catching up with mates or celebrating something like a birthday, and that real ale bar upstairs is a hidden gem if you're partial to a good pint. On the flip side, it can get pretty noisy, which is just the nature of a busy bar, but it might not be ideal if you're after a peaceful evening. Plus, a couple of reviews mentioned some dishes falling a bit flat, so maybe stick to the crowd-pleasers. All in all, it's a top choice for a night out, as long as you go in with the right expectations – the good far outweighs the odd hiccup, and I'd say it's well worth popping by for a proper Scottish pub experience.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The food is absolutely spot on, with generous portions that really hit the spot and leave you feeling satisfied.
  • Staff are friendly and helpful, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.
  • They've got a fantastic real ale bar upstairs, which is a real treat if you're into your craft beers.
  • The vibe is lively and buzzing, especially on weekends when it's packed and full of energy – perfect for a fun night out.
Cons
  • It can get quite noisy, which adds to the atmosphere but might make it tough for a quiet chat.
  • Some dishes, like the macaroni, have been a bit bland and underwhelming, so it's worth choosing carefully.
  • The place gets extremely busy on certain days, like when the local football team's playing, which could mean longer waits for service.

Noisy but that's the nature of the place but a great vibe. Busy on Saturday if Falkirk football club is at home. Real ale bar upstairs a big bonus.

Was here for my birthday dinner with family. Venue is very nice, staff were friendly and helpful. Food was excellent, with good size portions. On the night we were there, it was extremely busy (Saturday). Looking forward to going back in the near future.

The meal I ordered, between the sheets, was very nicely cooked and prepared, couldn't have asked for a nicer meal. However the macaroni was very bland and dry & no flavour at all, the salt n chili chips wasn't the greatest felt more like the b&m shaker thrown over as an afterthought. Due to the lack of busyness there was hardly any attentiveness or urgency from staff as we were seated in a desolate area in the rear of the restaurant.
