About This Pub
Oh, what a treat The Queen's Head in Cranford is – it's one of those pubs that just wraps you up in its 400-year history from the moment you walk in, with those gorgeous wooden beams and cosy fireplaces that make you feel like you're in a proper old English tale. I have to say, the food really steals the show; whether it's their gourmet dishes or those vegan options that impressed me no end, everything's prepared with such care and fresh ingredients that you'd be hard-pressed not to leave satisfied. The staff are an absolute delight too, always on hand with a smile and great recommendations, just like having a chat with mates behind the bar. And don't get me started on that beer garden – it's a hidden gem for families on a sunny day, with barbecues and a relaxed setting that makes it perfect for unwinding. On the flip side, it's a bit of a downer that they don't allow pets, as I'd love to bring the dog along, and while the pub is spotlessly clean, the surrounding area can be a touch messy, which might take the edge off your visit. Prices are on the moderate side, so it might not be the cheapest spot for a quick one, but overall, it's a solid choice if you're after good food, great company, and that authentic pub feel without any fuss.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The historic charm is absolutely spot on – with those wooden beams, fireplaces, and solid oak doors, it feels like stepping back in time, which is just lovely for a relaxed evening out.
-
The food is a real highlight; they've got a gourmet menu with plenty of choices, including tasty vegan options like that Korean chicken burger, and it's all made with great ingredients that leave you wanting more.
-
The staff are wonderfully friendly and attentive – think personalised service with smiles and helpful suggestions, making you feel right at home, no matter if you're popping in for a quick drink or a full meal.
-
It's family-friendly with a secluded beer garden that's perfect for sunny days, complete with barbecues and a peaceful vibe, plus there's free parking and outdoor seating for added convenience.
-
Being near Heathrow, it's an ideal spot for a pre-flight pint or a hearty Sunday roast, and the place is spotlessly clean with well-maintained gardens that stand out in the area.
Cons
-
They have a no pets policy, which might put off anyone wanting to bring their furry friends along for a stroll and a drink.
-
While the pub itself is immaculate, it's in an area that can sometimes feel a bit untidy, so you might notice some litter outside, which is a shame.
-
With moderate prices, it could feel a tad pricey for everyday visits, especially if you're just after a simple pint rather than a full dining experience.

You need to go, staff food and hotels all great. Old pub with heaps of atmosphere. Well maintained gardens and very clean. Stands out in an area where litter is everywhere. Small touches, fresh flowers table service to order and no hurry to finish your meal or drinks. Exactly what we expected of an old English pub. Well worth the visit
If you're looking for the authentic pub/Sunday roast experience just before you catch your flight at Heathrow, this place exceeds expectations! Outside a nd inside, drip old English charm. Our server Caitlin looked after all of our needs with a smile and great suggestions 😀! The smell coming from the kitchen overwhelmed the senses, and the taste of the food did not disappoint! We ordered the light roast beef and the chicken and mushroom pie and mash. Both were tasty and satisfying. We split a sticky toffee pudding with custard for dessert, amazingly rich!
Lots of car parking spaces. The food is spectacular! Really loved it. Many vegan options. I had a very nice Korean vegan chicken burger.
Wow where do I start ! The food, the staff everything was amazing, we arrived in London after a long 5 hour drive and came across this pub and everything was lovely ! Nothing was too much trouble, great prices I would definitely recommend and go again if im ever around this area again !
Thank you, credit to you all 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Shoutout to Lawrence and Preet! Two amazing men that helped an American about to fly back home.
They let me sit in the pub with my luggage (I was headed to the airport in a couple hours). Preet kept up some interesting conversation and offered to make me a mini fish and chips since I hadn't gotten to eat at a chippy while in England.
Incredible Sunday Roast. The Lamb is delicious, but my favorite was the Yorkshire pudding which I cannot get back home. The mini fish and chips was so good, and they didn't charge me because of the quality of their hospitality.
The Sticky Toffee Pudding was a solid brick. I ordered with Custard, not ice cream, and it was incredible.
So grateful for my last meal in London being so delicious. Thank you both!
