About This Pub
Ah, The Queens Head – it's one of those pubs that just makes you smile the moment you step inside, like bumping into an old mate who's always up for a laugh. From what folks are saying, the team running the place are spot on, making everyone feel welcome and keeping things lively without being over the top. You've got a solid lineup of beers that hit the spot, paired with simple but delicious bites like those cheese and onion rolls, which are just the ticket for soaking up a few pints in their snug bar or out in the courtyard. It's dead dog-friendly too, which is brilliant if you're out for a walk and fancy a stop-off. On the flip side, the hours can look a tad confusing with all those different listings, so you might end up planning around that or giving them a ring first. And without a website, it's not the easiest to get the lowdown beforehand, but honestly, that's a minor niggle in what sounds like a cracking little spot overall. If you're in Bromsgrove and after a proper pub experience, I'd say give it a go – it's got that heartwarming charm that'll have you coming back for more.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The staff are absolutely brilliant – always welcoming and chatting away, making you feel right at home as soon as you walk in.
-
It's got that classic cosy pub vibe with a great atmosphere, perfect for catching up with mates over a pint or two.
-
The selection of ales is spot on, especially the Wainwright, and they're kept really well for a top-notch taste.
-
They serve up some cracking food like those cheese and onion rolls and cobs – simple, tasty, and just the thing to go with your drink.
-
It's dog-friendly and has a nice rear courtyard, plus they're planning exciting events like live music, which sounds like a real treat.
Cons
-
The operating hours seem a bit muddled from what I've seen, with varying times listed, which might leave you guessing if you're popping in on a Sunday.
-
No website means it's trickier to check out menus or events in advance – you'd have to just turn up and hope for the best.
-
While the reviews are glowing, the overall rating suggests there might be the odd off day, so it could be hit or miss depending on when you go.

A proper pub well managed by great people.
Love the cheese and onion rolls etc
Perfect when enjoying a few pints.
Excellent cobbage!!
A lovely example of a traditional pub. Cozy bar space and rear courtyard. It’s a great environment for a social beer and it’s dog friendly too. The new landlords are very welcoming and interactive with all their customers. A pint of Wainwright with a cheese and onion cob is a must. It would be nice to see a local beer on offer, would be my only recommendation.
What a fantastic experience I had here. The pub looked and felt completely different. The atmosphere was great - very inviting. Great selection of ales and very well kept. The pub was clean, bright and warm. Will be coming back to experience some live music very soon.
I visited this pub yesterday and was pleasantly surprised. Fantastic atmosphere and the staff were outstanding. The place was lovely and clean, smelt lovely. The cobs were delicious and reasonably priced. Great selection of beer. Will definitely be coming back again.
Amazing to see the pub open again and serving some great drinks, sounds like lots of exciting events coming up. Thanks Sally and Chris, we will be back
