About This Pub
You know, if you're wandering around Edinburgh and fancy a spot that feels like a proper local haunt without losing that touch of class, The Queens Arms is one I'd happily recommend. It's tucked away on Frederick Street, this cosy little hideaway full of character and history, where everything from the homecooked dishes to the handpicked ales just hits the mark. I mean, their Sunday roasts are legendary – think tender meats, fresh veg, and all the trimmings that leave you properly satisfied – and the menu's got that Scottish heart with quality ingredients that make every bite feel special. The drinks selection is spot on too, whether you're after a smooth whisky or a cold craft beer to chat over with mates. And the atmosphere? It's buzzing but never overwhelming, especially when the sports are on; you'll find yourself cheering along in a friendly crowd. On the flip side, it does fill up quickly, so you might end up queuing for a table, and with prices on the moderate side, it could get a bit pricey if you're there for the long haul. All in all, it's a solid choice for a relaxed evening – honest, it's got that balance of good times and a few quirks that make it feel real.

Fantastic from start to finish! We arrived early and although there weren’t any free tables we were able to get a drink at the bar and the host kept us in mind when a table became available. Food was top notch and service was second to none! Will defo be back again!
My husband and I came here for an early lunch and had reservations for 11:45. We arrived at 11:30 when they opened, and after waiting for the people in front of us were seated immediately. This pub is incredibly cute. It wasn’t that crowded yet and was relatively quiet. I ordered the Sunday roast and my husband had the fish and chips. Both were excellent. I ordered the Royal macaroni and cheese to go for dinner and it was also excellent. Will definitely be back here again.
While planning our trip to the UK, we knew we had to experience a proper Sunday roast—and after reading countless glowing reviews, we made a reservation at The Queen’s Arms in Edinburgh weeks in advance. It did not disappoint.
From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the service was absolutely stellar—friendly, attentive, and genuinely invested in making sure we had a great experience.
The food? Fantastic. The Sunday roast lived up to all the hype—flavorful, perfectly cooked, and satisfying in every way. This was exactly the kind of meal we were hoping to have in the UK, and it more than delivered.
We can officially check this one off the bucket list, and we highly recommend The Queen’s Arms to anyone looking for a great meal and authentic experience in Edinburgh!
Really enjoyed the visit. Friendly and attentive staff. Food was very good and pretty reasonably priced given the location. Great selection of beers. Didn't need a reservation but we also had dinner a little early and on a Tuesday. Would definitely come back next time I'm in the city!
I would go as far to say this is some of the BEST pub food I’ve ever had. Between my group we had the loaded fries, fried chicken skewers, mac&cheese, onion rings, and a steak meal. It was so so tasty and the chips seemed home made which was even better. Would 100% recommend and would return if I ever got the chance. Staff were lovely too, fast service and good atmosphere.
My ONLY negative, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, was that it was very loud in there if you prefer a more peaceful meal, however is it a sports bar so this is to be expected and I did enjoy the atmosphere regardless.
