About This Pub
Oh, The Queen Edith – it's one of those unpretentious pubs in Cambridge that just hits the spot for a relaxed evening out. The staff are always up for a chat and go out of their way to make you feel welcome, which really adds to the homely vibe. You've got this fantastic lineup of local brews and ciders that are spot on for anyone who appreciates a good ale, and the food doesn't disappoint either – think delicious pizzas, cracking fish and chips on Fridays, and those satisfying Sunday roasts that leave you nicely full. The outside area is a real treat when the weather's on your side, ideal for soaking up the sun with a drink in hand. But, fair's fair, it's not all perfect; I've heard a few folks mention the beer coming out a bit warm now and then, which can be frustrating, and portions on some items like the chicken wings might not quite match the price tag. Plus, it tends to fill up quickly on busier nights, so you might end up waiting a while for your meal, which isn't ideal if you're peckish. All in all, it's a great spot for catching up with mates over a pint, as long as you go in with realistic expectations – the good bits definitely outweigh the bad for me!
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
Friendly and helpful staff that make you feel right at home
-
A cracking selection of local beers and ciders, like those from Milton brewery – perfect for a proper pint
-
Tasty food options, especially the pizzas, fish and chips on Fridays, and hearty Sunday roasts with generous portions
-
Relaxed atmosphere and a lovely outside area for enjoying a drink on a nice day
Cons
-
Occasionally the beer can be a bit warm, which is a shame for such a good selection
-
Some dishes, like the chicken wings, might feel a tad small for the price – not always the best value
-
It can get quite busy, particularly on Fridays, leading to waits for food that might put a dampener on things

Nice selection of real cider from Cambridge, friendly staff with a relaxed atmosphere and a nice outside area
Great local pub
Friendly service
Great food, particularly pizza nights and fish and chips on a Friday.
Gets very busy on Friday, but you can book a table for supper.
Brilliant local pub: Milton brewery beer from just a few miles away with fantastic classical names; and pizza. Love this place 🍺😍
The beer was warm. Ordered chicken wings and only came out with a plate of 3 wings for £6. The loaded fries did look though from someone else ordering it
The staff were friendly and helpful. The Sunday roasts were excellent, with plenty on the plate. I was prepared for a bit of a wait, given how busy it was on the day, but it would have been nice if the starter arrived a little sooner.
Great beer selection! As soon as a couple of beers had finished, they were replaced with new ones.
