About This Pub

You know, I recently had a wander into The Brook Indian Gastro Pub in Cambridge, and I have to say, it's one of those places that just hits the spot. The food is spot on – think rich, flavoursome Indian dishes with a fresh twist that really stand out, whether you're tucking into a butter chicken or trying their thali. The staff are an absolute delight, always chatting away and making sure everything's just right, which adds to that homely feel. Plus, with live sports on the screens and a cracking range of drinks like cask ales and cocktails, it's a top choice if you're up for watching the match with a pint in hand. On the flip side, it does get a bit buzzing during events, so if you're after a peaceful evening, it might not be ideal. And while the Indian focus is fantastic, traditional pub fare isn't really on the menu, which could be a downside for some. All in all, it's a welcoming spot that's worth a visit if you're in the area – I'd definitely pop back for another go at their curries!

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The food is absolutely delicious, with authentic Indian dishes that have a modern twist, making it a real treat for curry lovers.
  • The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, always ready with great recommendations and top-notch service.
  • It's got a lovely, clean atmosphere that's perfect for enjoying live sports on the big screens with mates.
  • A fantastic selection of drinks, from cask ales and craft beers to cocktails and fine wines, plus some cracking low-alcohol options.
  • Dog-friendly and affordable, so it's ideal for a relaxed outing without breaking the bank.
Cons
  • It can get a bit lively and noisy during big sports events, which might not be everyone's cup of tea if you're after a quiet spot.
  • The menu focuses heavily on Indian cuisine, so if you're in the mood for classic British pub grub, you might find the options a tad limited.

A beautiful and very clean pub. Welcoming hosts and very friendly guests. We immediately felt welcome. The food is absolutely delicious. Thank you for the excellent service and recommendations from MANI. We had a wonderful morning. Our dog was also very welcome. She slept peacefully and enjoyed the break.

I’d never been to an Indian pub before and had no idea what to expect, as along with 6 other family members we visited for our Easter Sunday meal. There was a fabulous choice of both Authentic Indian cuisine and regular English dishes including beef or chicken roast dinners. I opted for the Thali with Chicken, which was made extra spicy at my request, it also included a dessert. Although I’ve had many Indian meals this was without doubt one of the very best, was superbly presented and had very generous portions. The same was also true of all of the meals that we ordered. Finishing my meal was a challenge but it was so delicious, I took my time and was eventually successful in leaving a clean plate. Amazingly, considering the high quality and portion size, the prices were very competitive. It was a beautiful sunny day and we ate our meals on the tables in the pub garden and were able to enjoy the sunshine. The pub has its own free car park with generously sized parking spaces, giving you lots of room to open your car doors. Without a doubt we will be aiming to dine here again when visiting. Cambridge.

I recently visited The Brook Indian Gastro Pub, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. I ordered the chicken biryani, and it was freshly cooked, full of flavor, and truly reminiscent of authentic Hyderabadi biryani - a real treat for anyone who loves traditional Indian cuisine, The burger and chips were also fantastic! Simple yet delicious. The staff here are amazing - warm, welcoming, and always serving with kindness. The atmosphere in the restaurant feels very homely, with a great ambiance that makes it a perfect place to relax and enjoy a meal. The classic music in the background was a nice touch too, adding to the overall relaxing vibe. It's a great spot for families and children too, with a friendly and inviting atmosphere. Highly recommended for anyone craving authentic Indian food in a cozy, welcoming setting.
