About This Pub

Ah, the Rock in Cambridge – it's one of those cosy spots that really pulls you in for a relaxed evening. I love how the staff go out of their way to make you feel at home, with their cheeky jokes and spot-on recommendations; it's like chatting with a mate behind the bar. The deals on food and drinks are an absolute winner, especially if you're looking to stretch your pounds further without skimping on fun. Plus, it's got that spacious feel with telly screens everywhere, making it ideal for catching the big match or just gathering with a group. On the downside, the grub can sometimes fall short – a few folks have mentioned meals not quite living up to expectations, which is a shame when you're tucking in. Overall, though, it's a solid choice for a laid-back night out; just keep your expectations realistic for the food, and you'll have a cracking time.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are incredibly friendly and full of banter, making every visit feel like catching up with old mates.
  • Fantastic deals on drinks and food, like two mains for under £15, which is brilliant for keeping things affordable.
  • Spacious layout with plenty of room for groups and loads of TVs showing live sports, perfect for game days.
  • Outdoor seating area that's great for enjoying a pint on a sunny afternoon in Cambridge.
  • A good range of beers, spirits, and options for vegetarians and vegans, so there's something for everyone.
Cons
  • Food quality can be a bit inconsistent; some dishes might not come out as ordered, like a burnt burger.
  • It's more of a straightforward pub vibe, so if you're after something fancy or gourmet, it might not hit the mark.

We popped in for a quick meal before driving up north. The pub was relatively empty and the staff were funny and engaging. We were served by a gentleman in bandana (sorry didnt ask your name) who made plenty of jokes and recommendations. Nice chat, pal! We enjoyed our time and food and surely will be back when we are in the area again!

Good spacious pub with good selection of drinks and the best deal I think was 2 mains for £14.99, the pints were in reasonable price and if you looking to spicy up your night with shots you get 3 shots of spirits for £6. They also have vegan and vegetarian options. They have outside seating area too and easy access to the toilets.

The pub is nice and big inside and has plenty of room for big groups. There's TVs all over the place so you can watch a game if that's your thing. The food wasn't great, my burger was burnt and not what I ordered but I was too hungry to wait for another one. Other people in our group also had issues with their food. Having said that the people serving us were nice and helpful. I'd likely visit again but not for food.

This place is beyond amazing. Best pub in Cambridge and the entire Cambridgeshire county. Possibly the best in east Anglia. Bandana man is the best. He always makes sure we are looked after. He has unmatched banter which is out of this world. He cracks me up on the reg. Excellent service. Sports on TV all the time. Amazing music. Delicious food. Outstanding beer selection. Pool. Darts. What more can you ask for? Thank you bandanna man. You are the best. I will definitely be back.

I've been a regular at Rock Pub for quite some time now, and I can't recommend it highly enough. The atmosphere is fantastic, the food is always delicious, and the service is top-notch. Every visit is a pleasure! A special shout-out to Emma, who always goes above and beyond to make sure we’re well taken care of. She’s friendly, attentive, and makes us feel right at home every time we walk through the door. It's employees like her that keep us coming back! Whether you're looking for a cozy spot for a meal or a great place to unwind with friends, Rock Pub is the place to be. Consistently great food, excellent service, and a warm, welcoming vibe—what more could you ask for? Keep up the great work!
