About This Pub
Ah, The Quakerhouse – it's one of those places that really grows on you once you step inside. From what I've gathered, they've got an absolutely cracking range of real ales and craft beers on tap, always rotating to keep things fresh and exciting, which is a real treat if you're a beer enthusiast like me. The live music scene is another highlight; there's often something going on with free entry, covering all sorts of tastes, and it creates such a lively, inclusive buzz that draws in a great crowd. The staff are just lovely, always up for a chat and making sure you're looked after, which adds to that homely feel. And let's not forget the historical backstory – stories of ghosts and old tradesmen give it a unique character that makes every visit a bit of an adventure. On the flip side, it's a cosy spot, which means it can get a bit squished on popular nights, so if you're after plenty of space, it might not be the best pick. Also, while they do snacks, it's not really a place for a full meal, and being hidden away up a yard, it could take a moment to locate if you're new to Darlington. All in all, it's a solid choice for a good night out, especially if you're keen on quality drinks and a friendly atmosphere, but it's worth bearing those little quirks in mind for the full experience.

Very much a locals pub hidden away in the town centre. Always plenty of real ales to try along with some regular beers and ciders. The main interest is the live bands which play here catering for all tastes in music. Helpful, friendly bar staff as well.
Didn't try any food.
My daughter and her fiance held their engagement party here in the gorgeous upstairs venue. All guests who had not visited before loved the venue. During the planning stage, Shelley met with us and answered all questions, keeping in touch throughout the planning process. We were allowed access the day before to decorate and on the day itself to present the food and add the table decorations. As a central Darlington venue the location was superb for all guests. We had some travel from Glasgow, Austria and even Mexico for the party. Blessed with good weather guests were able to make the most of the outside spaces. A huge thanks to Shelley and the team for making this such an amazing event. Thank you.
Live music, solid rotating selection of craft beers at decent prices, crackin people behind the bar. Nice and tucked away in the yards so it's just their very nice regulars and they never seem to get helmets staggering in picking fights or anything.
A little on the small side but very cozy and atmouspheric, you can really feel that the place has history.
Those who know the Quakers only have good things to say about it.
Great beer, friendly staff, cosy vibe, low prices. Not much more anyone can want from a pub. They do good music events here too.
I cannot leave a review about food because we didn't eat and who needs to with the fabulous selection of nine real and craft ales, a selection of ciders and lagers including Budvar on draft.
Great place, very friendly and off the beaten track up an alley.
