About This Pub

Ah, The Post Office Arms – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper local gem, you know? From what I've gathered from the reviews, folks absolutely rave about the beer; it's well-kept and comes in a great variety, making it a go-to for anyone after a solid pint without any fuss. The staff are genuinely lovely, always up for a chat and making sure everyone feels welcome, which really adds to that cosy, traditional atmosphere – it's like stepping back in time to what pubs used to be all about. Plus, with a beer garden and a dart board, it's perfect for a relaxed afternoon or evening with friends, and it's ace that they allow dogs as long as they're well-behaved. On the flip side, it's a bit of a shame they don't do food, so if you're peckish, you'll have to pop out for a takeaway or eat before you go. And let's not forget the parking – it can be a proper headache, with no spots right outside, meaning a short walk might be in order, which isn't ideal on a rainy day. Overall, with a solid 4.5 rating from heaps of positive feedback, it's worth a visit if you're in the area, especially for a no-nonsense drink and a laugh, but just keep those little niggles in mind to set your expectations right.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The beer selection is spot on – well-kept pints and a good range of ales, ciders, and spirits that really hit the mark.
  • The staff and owners are super friendly, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.
  • It's got that classic traditional pub atmosphere, like a proper neighbourhood spot that harks back to the good old days of English pubs.
  • There's a lovely beer garden, a dart board for a bit of fun, and plenty of seating to relax with mates.
  • They welcome well-behaved dogs, which is a nice touch for those who like to bring their furry friends along.
Cons
  • They don't serve any food, so you'll need to grab a bite elsewhere before heading in.
  • Parking can be a right faff – no dedicated spots, and you might end up walking 5 to 20 minutes from the nearest area.
  • Pints are around £4 to £5 each, which is fair for the area but could add up if you're planning a long session.

Once a week on Fridays at 2pm I stop in for a pint. The beer is well kept and the landlord, his family and staff are very friendly. It is a place that remiinds me of what English pubs were like years ago, a neighbourhood asset.

Decent pub with a lively atmosphere. Everyone I met in there seemed to be decent and a good laugh. Parking could be tricky, car park 2 streets away. Ext to sitar India. But only 5min walk at most. Parking anywhere else could be a good 10-20min walk. £4-5 a pint depending on what you drink

Friendly local pub on Puller Road. Good rang of beers, are and ciders, usual spirits. Nice atmosphere, friendly customers, sports bar. Allows well behaved dogs. Does not serve food. No dedicated parking, but that's a good thing.
