About This Pub
Ah, The Plough in Cramlington – it's one of those pubs that really captures the heart of a traditional village spot, with its original farmhouse vibes and cosy nooks that make you feel right at home. I have to say, the real ales are an absolute highlight; they're smooth and varied, and the staff are always up for a chat about what might suit your taste – it's like having a mate behind the bar. The beer garden is brilliant on a sunny day, and with things like the monthly music quiz, there's plenty to keep the evenings entertaining. It's moderately priced too, so you won't break the bank for a good night out. On the flip side, though, I've heard from a few folks that it's not quite as spick and span as it could be; some have pointed out grubby toilets and tatty carpets that make you wish they'd put in a bit more effort on the maintenance front. It's a pity because it has so much potential, but if you're popping in, maybe check it out during the day when it's less hectic. Overall, it's still a solid choice for a pint and a laugh, as long as you go in with realistic expectations and keep an eye on the finer details.

Formerly East Farm, Cramlington Village, and much of the building is the original masonry and features. Lovely beer garden out back.
Love the monthly music quiz. Although we do appallingly and usually finish near the bottom, it is a really good music quiz.
I used to be a regular to this pub for over 35 years. It was the best pub in Cramlington really well run and spotlessly clean. I've been there tonight with friends from out of the area, it was shocking. The carpet is stuck together with tape, the toilets are awful. There were children running riot, and still in the pub at 9.20 when we left, we were sick of the noise from these kids and parents didn't stop them. Won't be coming back.
Excellent line of real ale! Go during the day and Fiona can recommend any to your preference. Hadrian & Borders Grainger Ale was on when I visited. So smooth! Nice sunny beer garden at the rear. Dogs are welcome indoors too!
Been a regular here for over 25 years, the decline of our once loved local has been staggering under the current regime. Absolutely filthy & run down to a level you’d struggle to find in any other pub in the UK. Hygiene standards are through the floor including the habit’s of some of the bar staff. Lack of management & any semblance of customer service - an absolute disgrace.
