About This Pub
Ah, The Pickled Sprout – it's one of those places in Harrogate that just warms you up from the inside out. Picture this: you're tucking into a massive Yorkshire pudding with juicy roast beef or perhaps some crispy salmon fish cakes, all served piping hot on proper plates, and everything's crafted with fresh, local ingredients that make you feel like you're doing something good for yourself. The head chef, David Davies, has really nailed that balance between hearty classics and a bit of superfood flair, so whether you're after a light bite or a full-on feast, it's all there. And let's not forget the drinks – they've got a cracking selection of wines, local brews, and exciting cocktails that make it ideal for an after-work unwind or a weekend get-together. The team on the floor are an absolute delight, always on hand with a smile and that extra touch of care that turns a good meal into a memorable one. Of course, it does get busy, especially on Sundays, so you might have to plan ahead to avoid any faff, but honestly, that's a small price for such a gem in the town centre. Overall, it's a spot I'd happily recommend to anyone looking for a proper, feel-good dining experience without breaking the bank.

Had the best Sunday roast ever at the Pickled Sprout. To start with we had a reservation at 17:00. Despite being extremely busy the Manager pulled some strings and got us in 2 hours early. Order was taken in a timely manner. Food and drink arrived in good time. Food was plentiful and everything was very tasty and I've never had a yorkshire pudding that nice. Prices are good and it is very refreshing to see that no service charge was added to the bill. I asked the Manager why and she said we believe in leaving it to the customer to decide whether the service should be rewarded. Staff were lovely , friendly and attentive.
Just had the most incredible Sunday lunch 3 course for such an amazing price! Would’ve paid far more it was that good! Wow Wow Wow- definitely will be here more often!
The service was also incredible, we had one girl who was just brilliant the full time and I could see her being so attentive to so many tables at once.
Each course was just 10/10, highly recommend!
The food is beautifully presented, served fresh and piping hot. The staff are delightfully polite and attentive. We were staying for a conference and ate here each evening. A special mention should be made of Ethan who is a very charming, friendly and efficient waiter. He gives service with a sparkling smile.
Went for dinner on a Saturday night. The staff were really friendly. The food was fantastic and reasonably priced. I got the monkfish scampi and my mum got the pumpkin curry. Both dishes were super tasty! Atmosphere was great. It was our first time dining here and we did get a bit confused on how to find the restaurant area as entered via the bar so maybe a sign would be helpful? The bar was really busy but the noise didn’t carry at all into the restaurant area/ it just made the atmosphere better. Would definitely return!
Wonderful Sunday Roast.
Pork, crackling and apple sauce hit the spot. Roast beef came a close second. Huge Yorkshire puddings served with delicious vegetables. Salmon fish cakes were lush, hot and crispy. Everything served on hot plates 👍 Special shout out to Frayer our server, who made our evening special
