About This Pub

Ah, The Paget Arms, what a gem it sounds like from the chatter around it! I've got to say, it's one of those places that really warms your heart with its friendly owners and staff who make an effort to know you personally – it's like popping into a mate's house for a drink. The atmosphere is buzzing, especially if you're a student or just up for some good times, and that huge beer garden is perfect for soaking up the sun with a cold one in hand. The food, particularly those burgers, gets rave reviews, so you'd be mad not to give them a try. Plus, it's super dog-friendly, which is a nice touch if you're out with your four-legged companion. On the flip side, though, the operating hours are a bit of a puzzle – they seem inconsistent, and with no fresh reviews since 2021, it might not be as lively as it once was, or perhaps it's had a quiet spell. It's in a residential spot, so things wrap up early to keep the neighbours happy, which is fair but means it's not for all-nighters. All in all, if you're after a proper, homely pub experience with great hospitality, it's worth a visit, but do check it's open first to avoid any disappointment – honest feedback from one pub lover to another!

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff and owners are absolutely brilliant – they go out of their way to make you feel welcome, like chatting with old mates over a pint.
  • It's got a lively, vibrant atmosphere that's perfect for students and groups, with a huge beer garden that's ideal for sunny afternoons.
  • The food is spot on, especially those burgers – they're a real highlight if you're after a hearty meal with your drinks.
  • Dog-friendly vibes all the way; their pup Clyde adds a fun, welcoming touch, and they're considerate if you're not keen on furry friends.
  • Great for social events, like birthdays, with amazing hospitality and drink recommendations that make every visit feel special.
Cons
  • The operating hours seem a bit muddled or possibly out of date, with some confusion around when it's open, which might put a dampener on spontaneous visits.
  • There haven't been any recent reviews, so it could have changed since the last buzz in 2021 – always worth checking before heading out.
  • Being in a residential area means things quiet down early, around 10:30 PM, so it's not the spot for late-night revelry.
  • The website's a bit of a letdown with errors, making it tricky to get more info online before you go.

Great pub with a vibrant atmosphere. Student friendly, huge beer garden and great food (especially the burgers). The landlord and landlady (and their dog Clyde) are what make this place as great as what it is. They make the effort to personally get to know their regulars and go above and beyond. As former students of Loughborough and now locals to the town this is unquestionably our favourite place to go and Dave always makes a big fuss over us when we enter!

Amazing pub, lovely staff they couldn’t be more welcoming! The pub owner Dave is very dedicated to having a friendly and happy atmosphere that makes you feel safe. Couldn’t recommend This pub more! There’s also a dog (Clyde) who is super friendly but if you don’t like dogs then they will put him away with no hesitation. Best pub in Loughborough by a mile!😊

New refit and update looks very nice. It is an everards pub so does the famous Tiger. Has a very spacious beer garden for summer drinking. It attracts clientele from all walks locals as well as students. It is a pub however amongst residential area so entertainment stops around 10:30 PM as not to keep surrounding residents from happy. All in all it is a nice cosy pub to relax with a beer friendly staff very welcoming
