About This Pub

Ah, The Orange Tree – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper local gem, you know? From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, the beer selection is spot on, with a cracking array of real ales and brews from nearby spots that beer enthusiasts will love. The staff are genuinely lovely, always ready with a smile and that extra effort, like hosting a brilliant wake or just making sure you're looked after. Food-wise, the Sunday roasts are the talk of the town – proper hearty and delicious, though you'll want to book as it gets busy. It's got this welcoming vibe that's perfect for a relaxed afternoon in the garden, and being dog-friendly with a playground for the kids makes it ideal for families or anyone with a four-legged mate in tow. On the flip side, the opening times can be a tad muddled, which might catch you out if you're planning a spontaneous stop. And the website's a bit bare bones, so it's not the easiest for getting all the details upfront. All in all, it's a solid choice for a pint and a chat, with more highs than lows, and I'd say it's well worth a visit if you're in the area.

  • The website is pretty basic and doesn't offer much detail, so you might need to pop in or check elsewhere for more info.

A great stop in our motorhome. Very welcoming staff and good quality pub food. Great selection of real ales and Porter. Locals were very friendly and it is obvious that the dogs rule here. Thanks for having us

Our go to pub in Baldock. Anywhere from 6-10 Cask ales on at a time, the majority of which are from local breweries. The Sunday roasts are exceptional (booking is needed as they're often fully booked on a Sunday). Lovely big garden and dog friendly too.

A fantastic family-friendly find - nice playground fenced in to the side of the beer garden, visible from inside and out, delicious food, friendly staff, and fine cask ales. Adults enjoyed good conversation while the kids tired themselves out playing.
