About This Pub
Ah, The Oddfellows in Watford – what a gem for anyone looking for that classic British pub experience. From what I've gathered from the reviews and their website, it's got this warm, inclusive feel that really shines through, especially if you're there for a football match or just catching up with mates over a well-poured pint. The drinks menu is a highlight, offering everything from exciting beers and ciders to seasonal cocktails and even options for those going easy on the booze, and I love that they've got a dog-friendly beer garden for those sunny days. The staff seem to go the extra mile, making visitors feel welcome no matter where they're from, which is just brilliant for away fans or tourists. On the flip side, it can turn into a bit of a squeeze during peak times, with queues and that one-in-one-out policy, and if you're a real ale enthusiast, you might wish for more variety on the hand pulls. Overall, it's a solid choice for a good night out, with plenty of positive vibes and a 4.2 rating that speaks to its popularity – I'd say it's worth a visit if you're in the area, just maybe plan around the crowds for the best experience.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The atmosphere is absolutely spot on, especially on match days – it's buzzing and makes you feel right at home, whether you're a local or just popping in for a visit.
-
The staff are incredibly welcoming and on top of things, handling crowds like pros and making sure everyone has a great time.
-
They've got a cracking selection of drinks, from exciting beers and ciders to wines, cocktails, and even low or no-alcohol options, plus that dog-friendly beer garden is a lovely touch for a relaxed pint outside.
-
It's a top spot for watching the game with plenty of TVs showing Sky Sports, TNT, and more, so you won't miss a moment of the action.
Cons
-
It can get really packed on busy days, like during matches, with a one-in-one-out system that might mean a bit of a wait to get in.
-
The choice of hand-pulled beers is a tad limited, so if you're after a wide variety of real ales, you might find it a bit lacking.
-
While the overall vibe is great, some folks have mentioned it's under new management, and there could be room for a few tweaks to keep things consistently brilliant.

American here and was in town for a football match. Found this gem afterwards and spent a couple hours with the locals who were hilarious and made me and my son feel welcome . If ever in area again, def stop by again. Loved this place!
Visited on matchday very busy with away fans but a great atmosphere. One in one out. Felt welcome and safe.
Hi there, all what I can say about the oddfolws under new management is the great service, I'd love to mention the bartender who served me Bethany, thanks Bethany Carry on, brilliant DJ sound, feeling safe and comfortable. Basing on experience as Gordon Ramsay previous employee, I'm happy and I believe many people they are.
All the best Timmy team, one dream one team.

My wife and I were on vacation in London and bought tickets to see Watford vs Portsmouth. We googled pubs close to Vicarage Road Stadium and had the Uber go to this pub. Safe to say, we had a blast! Fair prices and a clientele who helped us with tips on what to do and what not to do during matches since this was our first match. The backyard area was fun! I will tell all my friends to visit this pub.
Travelling Stoke City fan, brilliant pub for away fans. Near to coach drop-off and near to ground. Door staff and bar staff very welcoming, and managed well with the sudden arrival of fans. Lovely pint of Timmy Taylor, although I would've appreciated another one or two hand pull choices. I think the owner managed to thank nearly every Stoke fan for visiting! Cheers, Steve 🍻
