About This Pub

So, let me tell you about the North London Tavern – it's one of those proper London pubs that just feels like a warm hug when you walk in, with its original wooden floors and ornate details from back in 1894. I love how the staff are always so welcoming and chatty, making you feel like a regular from the get-go, and the food really hits the spot, especially things like a juicy steak paired with a crisp G&T or a pint of something local. It's brilliant for watching sports, whether it's the Women's Euros or rugby, and they've got all the amenities you need for a good time, like free WiFi and space for functions if you're planning a birthday bash. On the downside, it does ramp up the volume in the evenings, which might put off anyone seeking a peaceful spot, and you'll have to keep an eye on the kitchen hours as they wrap up early, so no impromptu late suppers. All in all, it's a solid choice for a catch-up, but it's worth popping in at the right time to get the best of it – honest, it's got that perfect mix of old-school charm and modern vibes that keeps you coming back.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • Friendly and helpful staff who always make you feel right at home, with a real knack for chatting and making your visit memorable
  • Tasty food offerings, like a well-cooked steak and a solid selection of beers and drinks to suit all tastes
  • A welcoming atmosphere that's perfect for watching live sports, with top facilities like Sky Sports and TNT for catching the big games
  • Family-friendly vibe with original Victorian features that give it a charming, historic feel, plus it's dog-friendly for those who bring their furry friends
  • Convenient options like easy table booking and app-based ordering, making it a breeze for events or a casual get-together
Cons
  • It can get a bit lively and noisy in the evenings, which might not be ideal if you're after a quiet pint
  • The kitchen tends to close fairly early, around 9 or 10 pm, so you might miss out on late-night snacks
  • Not always buzzing with crowds, which could feel a tad underwhelming on quieter nights when you'd fancy a more vibrant scene

Depending on what time you go it's quiet during the day, But it gets pretty loud in the evening. The food is good, friendly helpful staff, good assortment of beers and drinks.

I came to this pub on a Saturday night, around 9.00. It wasn’t busy at all. The kitchen closed at 9.30. Luckily, I had enough time to order! I had a steak and a glass of Merlot (£26). Very good service (I got served by Olly and the Greek bartender whose name I didn’t ask!)

I made a reservation the night before to spend the day watching rugby, and this pub turned out to be a fantastic choice. They offer a great selection of beers and spirits, along with a diverse food menu. I used the app to order food, which was convenient as it saved me from standing in line, though it had a few kinks. Some of the snacks I initially ordered were unavailable, but they provided great alternatives. However, when I ordered three beers, only two arrived. When I went to the bar to sort it out, I was impressed to see the lead bartender actively trying to understand what went wrong to ensure smooth service. For our group, I ordered five different starters: dumplings, beef croquettes, cod and chips, karaage chicken, and calamari. Every dish impressed— the chicken was juicy, the croquettes were packed with flavor, the calamari had the perfect crunch, and the fish and chips were fresh and well-cooked. Another big plus was that the pub is dog-friendly, which added to the warm and homely atmosphere. It truly felt like a welcoming space for everyone. Despite minor ordering hiccups, the overall experience was excellent. The lively vibe, great food, and attentive staff make this a top-notch local spot in Kilburn, London. Highly recommend!

We hired the function room for my partners 30th birthday. We often drink in here and know the staff really well as they’re super friendly and always take the time to stop and chat to us. The night was so easy, Danny was a breeze and really let us transform the room into the 90s disco we had planned. Luis managed the bar for the night which we asked for personally, and all of our friends and family had nothing but positive things to say about him! He made it a super fun experience, we had the best time and would really recommend using these guys for any parties/functions in future.
