About This Pub

Ah, Bohemia House – what a gem it is for anyone craving a taste of authentic Czech fare right here in London. I have to say, the food really steals the show; imagine tucking into generous portions of comforting dishes like goulash or a massive pork knuckle that's as tasty as it is filling – it's proper comfort food that leaves you smiling. The atmosphere is just as inviting, with a sunny patio that's ideal for a relaxed drink on a warm day, a snug bar for chatting away, and even events like wine tastings or live music that make it feel alive and community-oriented. It's also budget-friendly, so you can enjoy all that without worrying about the wallet. On the flip side, though, service has been a mixed bag for me and others; you might end up waiting a while for your food, and the team can seem a tad overwhelmed at times, which takes the edge off. Still, if you're after a place with heart and a bit of that European charm, it's worth a visit – just go in with realistic expectations and you'll likely have a great time.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The food is absolutely spot on – think hearty Czech classics like goulash and massive portions that leave you feeling properly satisfied.
  • It's got a lovely, welcoming atmosphere with a sunny patio screened from the road, a cosy bar, and even a garden area that's perfect for relaxing.
  • They offer a great selection of Czech beers and host fun events like wine tastings and live music, adding a real community feel.
  • Prices are reasonable, making it an affordable spot for a good night out without breaking the bank.
  • It's dog-friendly, which is always a plus if you're out with your furry friend.
Cons
  • Service can be a bit slow at times, like waiting ages for mains after starters, which might frustrate you if you're in a hurry.
  • Some dishes don't always hit the mark, such as the duck with soggy skin or dumplings that could use a bit more care.
  • The staff sometimes seem stressed and not as helpful or attentive as you'd hope, which can put a damper on things.

Really good pub food and great Czech beer. Very much enjoyed the dinner there. The only downside as mentioned by others was service - had to wait for almost an hour for the mains after starters.

We've been meaning to visit here for a while now. Initially popped in intending to only have a drink, but the food looked so good we had to order! The building is lovely, with sunny tables on the front patio (screened from the road by high hedges), a large dining room, a cosy bar with seating and a large garden with picnic tables. We sat in the garden as it was a beautiful day. Between us we ordered the Moravian Smoked Sausage, Fried Cheese and Chips, Beef Goulash and, of course, some beers. Everything was really good and the portion sizes were generous. Would definitely reca visit here.

No fuss, great Bavarian food. Its a place to come if you are really hungry because the portions are enormous. I ordered the "small' pork knuckle and a massive platter arrived. I should also mention that just because the portions sre large, this doesn't compromise the quality. See the photo!

A Hidden Gem with Amazing Food and Sofia’s Wonderful Service! We were standing on the street looking at the menu, trying to decide if we should go in, when a man passing by said, "Just do it, this place is great!" We took his advice — and I'm so glad we did! We had the best goulash comfort food, enjoyed in their lovely garden out back. Sofia made the experience even better with her warm and attentive service. She even recommended a fantastic Czech beer that perfectly complemented our meal. A wonderful spot with delicious food and incredible service. Thank you, Sofia!

I had the duck which was ok, by czech standards the skin was soggy and the dumplings were bathing in some juice, but it was ok. My daughter had schnitzel and potato salad which she said was very nice. The staff appeared to be quite stressed and not massively happy to help or bring more drinks etc. plus naively I thought they may speak czech but no such luck in Bohemia house.
