Stayed at the adjoining Sea hotel with my husband, son and his partner.
We met family in Bar 52 at pre-arranged birthday gathering for the first time since lockdown began. It was a special time for all of us.
England vs Ukraine match was on that evening and the atmosphere was electric.
Staff were so busy but were polite.
Want to give a special mention Kelly, who looked after us most of the evening and nothing was a problem to her.
She sorted food out for us even though we couldn't order through the app and there were problems with the kitchen, she made such an effort to sort us out.
Also made sure we were getting drinks when we needed them.
It was a lovely evening, and such a happy occasion. Thank you Kelly!

It is my opinion that you will not find a better portion of fish and chips anywhere in South Shields. This is a treat I look forward to whenever we visit. Freshly cooked, beautiful white fish, crispy batter and perfect chips.
I ate the salmon dish. The Gravlax sauce was definitely excellent and the roast vegetables were perfect. An other person took the Yorkshire/Roast pork and she appreciates too. So a good value for money.
On the negative side, there was too much waiting in between courses. But the waitress was very welcoming and smiling.
I recommend if you're not in a hurry.
