About This Pub

Ah, The Malt House in Worksop – what a cracking little spot it is, isn't it? From what I've gathered from the chats online, it's got this warm, inviting feel that makes you want to settle in for the evening, whether you're popping in for a quick gin or staying put with some mates. The drinks are a highlight; their own brand gin is smooth as silk and the cocktails are just the ticket for something special. And the staff? They're absolute stars, always on hand with a smile and ready to sort you out without any fuss. It's clear they've got a knack for creating a relaxing atmosphere, ideal for a catch-up or even a casual meet-up over a decent coffee. On the flip side, though, one or two folks have pointed out that the tapas didn't quite deliver on the authentic front, which might disappoint if that's what you're after. Still, with such high praise overall, it's worth giving it a go – just keep in mind it might be wise to check if they're open, as details are a bit sparse. All in all, it's a solid choice for a night out, balancing the good times with a few honest niggles to keep things real.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The drinks are absolutely spot on – their own brand gin is smooth and tasty, and the homemade cocktails really hit the spot for a relaxing evening.
  • The staff are so friendly and hardworking; they go out of their way to make you feel welcome, turning a simple visit into a memorable night.
  • It's got a lovely warm atmosphere with fresh decor and well-laid-out seating, perfect for catching up with mates or even a quiet meeting over a fine coffee.
  • Prices are spot on for what you get, making it a great value spot without breaking the bank.
  • The food, like their tapas, sounds brilliant from what folks have said – it's clear they put effort into making it enjoyable.
Cons
  • One person mentioned the tapas didn't quite live up to expectations, feeling a bit off from what you'd call authentic, which is a shame if you're after that genuine taste.
  • There aren't any recent reviews, so it might not be as buzzing as it once was, which could mean things have changed a bit.
  • No operating hours listed online, which makes it tricky to plan a visit without checking in advance.

Called in for a quick drink ended up stopping until closing time! What a find will definitely not be the last time we visit! Just love their own brand Gin really smooth and tasty! We didn't eat there but will next time we go... Booked in for the tapas this visit and we weren't disappointed, the food was delicious! The atmosphere was great and the staff really pleasant, couldn't do enough for us! The mushrooms in blue cheese are amazing and the salt and rosemary fries, but everything was lovely we didn't leave a thing!! Give it a go we'd highly recommend it!

The food was beautiful, the home made cocktails were just as good, but the staff have made the evening I have had with my wife amazing. They were so friendly and hardworking, nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely be going back. Cheers guys

What a lovely place to enjoy a fine Coffee. The decor is fresh and has a warm feel to it, the seating area is well laid out and the staff are lovely. I had a meeting at this venue and it felt very relaxing while I enjoyed a cup of fine Coffee. Good prices and great service. Well worth a visit!

I hope you take this as constructive criticism not a slagging off - I know times have been hard since covid and I'll give you that. I should have mentioned the food before we left and apologies for not doing so. We were really looking forward to 'authentic' tapas but were unfortunately met with slightly overpriced non-authentic dishes. Firstly some positive feedback: The staff were very lovely and welcoming and fairly attentive. The place is nicely decorated and lovely atmosphere. Our food came quickly and it was all hot enough. The chicken skewers were nice, the halluomi fries were lovely and the sangria and cocktails were fabulous, but that's where it ends unfortunately. Now the negatives: You were obviously short staffed, only 3 people were working and I believe the lady that owns it and sat us at our table was also the chef as we never saw her again, so only 2 staff fetching and carrying one which also had to do the bar. The olives weren't pitted as stated on the menu, but we were informed they weren't when they came, they weren't nice olives. The cod and parsley croquettes were basically battered fishcakes, we were thinking they would be flakes of fish so that was very disappointing and at £6.95 expensive. The patatas bravas were not home made but what seemed like the frozen potato cubes that you can get in any superstore and the sauce was quite chilli hot so my mum had to ask for some without the sauce on as it didn't state the sauce was hot. So as these were cheap frozen potatoes again an expensive dish. There wasn't a great deal of choice on the menu as there were four dishes that contained Chorizo. Maybe some of the other dishes are better  who knows? If you want authentic dishes it might be an idea to get a Spanish chef, just a suggestion? Just one point on the service, we did have to wait a bit for our table to be cleared and our dessert/cocktails to be ordered and it wasn't busy just 3 other tables occupied, but again that's down to lack of staff. As I said I don't want to slag off just constructive criticism.

Sue is amazing owner who always looks after her clients to the detail. I just tell her to surprise me and she always does every thing so delicious and beautiful decorated. We also order the Tapas box for a small work party and it’s so good with the cocktail as well . The Malt House is good atmosphere, nice good , amazing drink and best owner .
