About This Pub
Ah, The Unicorn – it's one of those pubs in Worksop that you might pop into for a relaxed pint and end up having a decent time, especially if you appreciate the warm, welcoming feel and the staff's approachable nature. I reckon the interior's a real highlight, with its lush design and that live music area adding a fun touch for evenings out. The drinks are solid too, like enjoying a good Guinness in a well-kept bar – it's those little things that make it feel like a proper local haunt. But, on the flip side, it's a shame about the reports of it not being inclusive towards transgender folks; that sort of thing can really spoil the experience and make you think twice about recommending it. Then there's the odd bit of customer service that feels a tad off, like being charged extra for something as simple as adding a splash more to your drink without any real understanding. Overall, it's got its charms for a casual get-together, but I'd say it's worth weighing up if you're after a place that's truly welcoming to everyone – just keep that in mind for a balanced night out.

-
It's got a warm, inviting interior with a lush design, perfect for settling in with a pint and enjoying the live music area for a bit of entertainment.
-
You can grab a solid pint here, like a well-poured Guinness, in a neatly presented bar that adds to the overall charm of the place.
Cons
-
There are some concerning reports about it not being a safe or welcoming spot for transgender individuals, which really puts a damper on things.
-
Customer service can fall short at times, like when they charge extra for simple tweaks to your drink without much flexibility or care.
-
It seems a bit inconsistent with inclusivity, making some feel uneasy or singled out, which isn't what you'd hope for in a local pub.

Not a safe place for LGBTQ+ people, barred a friend of mine for being trans and using the women's toilets, using the EHCR 'guidance' as an excuse and claiming they are legally required to follow it (they aren't).
A transgender friend of mine was barred here recently for using the girl's toilets. She's allowed to use the girl's toilets at every other place except this one, why's that? A bit weird. Had to go meet her at the King Edward instead who say transgender people are welcome 🤷♀️
I like the place it's nice. Manager is brilliant. The workers are very friendly and accommodating.
Had a few pints of Guinness with blackcurrant I’ve paid my 40 pence extra for the blackcurrant. My last pint I couldn’t taste the blackcurrant I asked the barman to please put some more blackcurrant in he said it’s another 40 pence. What is going on in today’s society, no customer care no more. My last pint ever in this pub!!
This was a superb pub for drinking, set in the building of a former Wetherspoon's which the staff were knowledgeable about! The counter is bright and neatly presented, the interior has a warming, lush design and the live music area is a good addition for later on. I enjoyed a good pint of Staropramen, sitting at the very comfortable classic seating of a clean table!
