About This Pub

Ah, The Lyppard Grange – it's one of those neighbourhood pubs that really tries to be the heart of the community in Worcester, with its affordable meals and that genuine, welcoming feel that makes you want to settle in for a chat. I love how they've got fresh ingredients on the menu, including some solid choices for vegetarians and vegans, and it's spot on for families or groups looking for a budget-friendly night out without skimping on taste. The staff often go the extra mile to make you feel looked after, which is just what you want from a local spot. But, let's be honest, it's not all smooth sailing – I've heard from a few mates about service that can be a tad inconsistent, like orders getting jumbled or feeling rushed at the bar, and those long waits for food can really kill the buzz, especially if you're hungry after a long day. Plus, there are times when the grub doesn't quite hit the mark, such as overcooked dishes, and some seating arrangements might not be the most practical for everyone. Overall, though, if you're after a relaxed evening with good value and a community spirit, it's worth giving it a go – just keep your expectations in check and maybe plan for a bit of patience.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are absolutely lovely and really welcoming, making you feel right at home as soon as you walk in.
  • It's brilliant value for money, especially for families – you can feed a group without breaking the bank, like getting kids' meals that are a steal.
  • They've got a great selection of fresh, tasty food, including options for veggies and vegans, and it's all served in a cosy, traditional pub atmosphere that's perfect for catching up with mates or watching the game.
Cons
  • Service can be a bit hit or miss, with some reports of orders getting mixed up or staff rushing through things, which puts a dampener on the experience.
  • Wait times for food are often longer than you'd hope, like over an hour in some cases, which isn't ideal if you're popping in for a quick bite.
  • There have been complaints about food not coming out quite right, such as steaks being overcooked, and a few accessibility issues with seating that might frustrate folks with prams or mobility needs.

Really lovely pub & bear garden; the staff were great, food was cheap and cheerful (although our gyros was still spicy despite not having hot sauce on it?...) Kids meals were amazing value for money! Family of x5 with drinks and food came to around £40! Will be returning!

If I could give 0 stars I would. The worker at the till very obviously and clearly rushed our orders even though there was no queue behind us, and ended up getting parts of our order wrong. Not to mention the hour and 15 minute wait for our food. The waiter was so lovely though, he deserves 5/5 stars- not this place though. Ordered loaded fries and just got plain skin on fries, but the waiter fixed this for us, they also forgot bread and butter, which btw the bread went stiff after 10 minutes.. The burger buns were burnt and inedible. If they weren’t so hungry from the hour long wait they wouldn’t have even touched the whole burger itself. Most likely won’t go again whatsoever, maybe for the chicken though (the chicken fillet with bbq sauce is honestly so nice)

It was the first time at this pub and it will be the last. Table booked, food ordered at 6pm it arrived at 6.40 and then I had to enquire as to where it was? It arrived sizzling hot I will say. The steak was ordered as Medium but it was over cooked to the point of being burnt. I didn’t bother to complain as I may have had to have waited another forty minutes for another one. You live and learn, but as I said I will not frequent this establishment again.

Place doesn't deserve 1 star or business, after a hectic day, with our 7, 5 and 12 week old, we stopped for an evening meal. We picked a table with plenty of room so we could put a pram, told we can't sit there as it blocked the way for wheelchair access, if we can't sit somewhere how can a wheelchair. They offered for us to sit outside, which is not practical with a tiny baby. Not family friendly very disappointing.
