About This Pub

Ah, The Lodge Tavern – it's one of those places that just hits the spot when you're in the mood for a proper pub experience in London. I have to say, the food really stands out; I tried the lamb chops on a whim, and they were honestly some of the finest I've had, especially considering it's a pub rather than a fancy restaurant. The staff are an absolute delight too – think friendly chats at the bar and staff who remember your face, like that bar manager who's always on point with a warm welcome. It's got this great vibe, whether you're popping in for a quiet daytime lunch or gearing up for a lively Friday night; that outdoor area with its comfy seats and lights is perfect for soaking up the evening air. But, let's be real, it's not without its downsides – those pints at over £7 can sting a bit, and the £5 entry fee might make you pause if you're just after a quick drink. Still, if you're up for splashing out on quality grub and a welcoming atmosphere, it's well worth a visit. Overall, I'd say it's a solid choice for when you want something a notch above the average local, but keep an eye on the costs to avoid any surprises.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The food is absolutely top-notch, with dishes like the lamb chops being some of the best you'll find in London – it's a real treat for anyone craving a proper meal.
  • The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, always greeting you warmly and going out of their way to make you feel welcome, whether it's for a quiet lunch or a weekend vibe.
  • It's got a lovely atmosphere, from the laid-back outdoor seating with cosy lights to a fun spot for evenings out, making it versatile for different occasions.
  • They're brilliant at handling special requests and dietary needs, which is a big plus if you're picky or have preferences.
  • It's open late and feels welcoming for a relaxed pint or meal, adding to that easy-going pub charm.
Cons
  • Drinks can be a bit steep, like a pint coming in at over £7, which might make you think twice if you're watching your wallet.
  • There's an entry fee of £5, which adds up and could put some people off, especially for a casual visit.
  • It might feel a tad pricey overall for what you get, so it's not the best spot if you're after something budget-friendly.

An unexpected wonderful experience. Nice service from the man behind the bar. The Lamb Chops are easily one of the best I've ever tasted, and I am used to eating at some of Londons best restaurants. I am keen on returning to try more of their menu.

I mean, it is a fun place to be during weekends but a pint is £7.05! Above average on the area, plus entry ticket (£5) so evaluate your choices.

Came in late at night, they were one of the few restaurants willing to serve us. The food was delicious, our group tried many different items. They were also willing to make a special order due to dietary preferences. Will return when back in town.

Fabulous little place, we called there for a meal before heading off to a gig. Lovely atmosphere, very laid back and chilled, there was an outdoor seating area with lights and comfy seats. The gentleman serving behind the bar was very friendly and polite, was recommending different ciders to me and our food was out very quickly. I got the seafood platter which was amazing, prawns, calamari, crispy fried whitebait, smoked salmon and garlic bread. My dish came with tartare sauce and a little mixed salad which was refreshing and crisp. My partner got the home style chicken burger which he loved! He particularly enjoyed the chips. Our two mains, along with a cider and a lager came to £36, so excellent value for such good quality food. My one issue would be that the bathrooms are very much in need of a facelift but that's my only gripe. We only stayed in Uxbridge for one night but we've already decided that when we go back, this place is our first stop for a meal! Highly recommend!
