About This Pub
Ah, The Lodge in Bridlington – it's got that quintessential pub feel with a fabulous view of the sea that just makes you want to linger. From what I've gathered from chats with others, the staff are absolute stars, always cheerful and accommodating, and the food really shines, particularly their Sunday lunches which are hearty and full of flavour at a fair price. It's a clean, warm space that's perfect for a relaxed meal or catch-up. But, let's be honest, it's not all smooth sailing; the music can crank up to ear-splitting levels, which puts a damper on conversations or enjoying things like their old quiz nights, and there have been a few tales of orders going awry or food not quite hitting the mark. Still, if you're popping by for a bite and a breather by the coast, it's worth giving it a go – just go in with realistic expectations and maybe check the vibe on the day. Overall, it's a solid choice for a casual outing, with the good bits outweighing the niggles for most.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The staff are really friendly and make you feel right at home, always ready with a smile and helpful advice
-
The food is a highlight, especially the Sunday lunch with tender beef, tasty veg, and those amazing Yorkshire puds – it's proper comforting grub
-
Prices are spot on, offering great value without breaking the bank
-
The interior is beautiful and clean, with stunning sea views that add a lovely touch to your visit
-
They've got good options for dietary needs, like gluten-free choices, which is brilliant for families or anyone with preferences
Cons
-
The music can get way too loud at times, turning what could be a relaxed evening into something more like a rave and making it hard to chat or enjoy a quiz
-
Service isn't always reliable – there have been mix-ups with simple drink orders and some food items, like dry buns or disappointing salads, falling short
-
The atmosphere has changed and isn't for everyone now, feeling less cosy in certain spots
-
With varying opening hours and only about four days a week, it might not be as accessible as you'd hope for a spontaneous stop

Went for dinner on Sunday. Staff were really nice and accumulating. Food was lovely. Great prices.
I used to enjoy going to The Lodge for their weekly quiz. The atmosphere was good with fairly decent music that was just the right level so that you could chat to friends and concentrate on the quiz.
Now, it has turned into a rave. The music is dreadful and so deafening, you can't hear yourself think nevermind talk to anyone or do the quiz properly. The host struggles to read the quiz questions as it is, and it's become annoying to the point where it's not enjoyable. The sport and football questions are also dominant in the quiz which spoils it for anyone who hates sport.
If I wanted to go to a nightclub, I'd go to Apollo. Please go back to how it was with indie music in the intervals and get the screens and sound effects working again. If you don't, I won't be going anymore 😞
Went to try the new Sunday lunch menu and it was gorgeous! tender beef, Tasty veg and amazing yorkshire puds! We go here all the time, it’s our favourite place in town and it never disappoints! Bar staff always friendly, gorgeous view of the sea and warming, clean environment! Beautiful interior! Highly recommend 😍
Incredible hidden gem in Bridlington. They have a secret ability to serve gluten free food to an extent. Most staff were knowledgeable. The person in charge was able to facilitate something for our daughter. The atmosphere is nice may be light music and the screens to be on. The floor and table was clean. Menus clean but hard to read! May be reprint, I will happily print and laminate for free.
The food was fantastic, with myself having dirty Fries with cheese sauce and mince (it's a dish). Pleasantly tasty and flavours great. My daughters gluten free burger hit the spot! You can smell the brioche buns warmed up buttery smell. My son had a cracking Piri Piri Wrap.that flowed in taste and served with piri piri chips.just a great blend.
Great scene to look out.
Only negatives was staff, just need smiles, a little more.about gluten free options rather than just give us a folder to look through, and may be not have Fake tan leaking on white shirts.
Shocking.
Can give them 0 stars i would . 3 times the barman got the simple drink order wrong.
order 1 chicken ranch burger. Brioche bun was extremely dry and it crumbling. Bacon was not crispy as menu described, Salad, Well picture attached. Boarding rotting would be the best way to describe it.
Order 2 bacon burger. Totally tastless, brioche bun. Dry and crumbling. Salad rotting again
Order 3 margarita pizza. Smelled burned and not fresh/out of date. Put me off eating it.
On leaving bar tender was leaning on bar chewing her chewing gum no smile or any interaction at all. Clearly didn't want to be there.
