About This Pub

Oh, what a treat The Little R'Ale House is – it's one of those spots that just makes you smile as soon as you walk in. Tucked away at Wellingborough station, it's got this inviting, homely feel where conversations flow as freely as the pints, and the staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome, like you're part of the gang. The beers and ciders are spot on, with a great variety straight from the barrel, and the prices are fair, making it an ideal place for a casual catch-up or a quiet pint. It's got that community spirit in spades, where you might end up chatting with locals about everything under the sun. On the flip side, it's a tiny space, so if it gets busy, you might be rubbing shoulders a bit more than you'd like, and the food's just basic snacks – no full meals here, which could be a downside if you're after a proper bite. Still, for what it is, it's a cracking little find, and I'd say it's well worth a visit if you're in the area and fancy a relaxed, affordable drink.

Pros and Cons

  • Staff are super friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home from the moment you step in
  • A cracking selection of craft beers and ciders straight from the barrel, all at really good prices
  • Its unique spot tucked away at the railway station adds a fun, quirky touch that's easy to love
  • It's a proper community hub with great conversations and a relaxed vibe, perfect for unwinding
Cons
  • The space is quite small, so it can get a bit cramped if things pick up, especially on busier days
  • Food options are limited to just bar snacks, which might leave you wanting something more substantial
  • It could be a tad tricky to spot if you're not familiar with the area, hidden as it is at the station

The Little R’ale house is a fantastic day out. It’s located right next to the platform at Wellingborough station. There is a really good selection of craft beers and ciders available. The actual bar is a very small building that is just large enough to swing a cat in. This adds to the charm of the place, there is extensive outside seating available. A word of warning, the toilets are only available at the station building only. This is really worth a day out.

What an absolute gem of a drinking hole, perhaps one of the most unique and pleasurable spots I’ve been to in a long time. Tucked away at the end of one of the station platforms it’s easy to miss, but take the wander and you’ll be treated to really welcoming service and great prices across a range of real drinks, with more recognisable options in bottles in the fridges too. The inside space is tiny but there’s a good number of tables outside which is a delight on a nice day, and they’ve even gone to the effort of keeping the outdoor space decorated nicely. Every time I get the chance I’ll be returning here!

A wonderful local community orientated micropub. Where friendly conversations are the entertainment. Great selection of real ales straight from the barrel and a comprehensive list of ciders. Bar snacks only unless someone brings in food to share with everyone. A jewel in Wellingborough's Station!

*update as it has new owners - * Still a fantastic place to relax with a few local ales, served straight from the cask. The locals and landlady are very friendly and time goes very quickly - relaxing with an ale and a pack of Black Country pork scratchings, having a laugh and a chat. Still a great place to sit and watch the trains too and is popular with rail and ale enthusiasts (and everyone else, of course) alike. Has a nice little garden with some lovely shrubs and flowers. Great atmosphere. Hidden gem. *older review* Lovely little place, nice to watch the trains go by. Landlord and staff are really friendly and prices are good too.
