About This Pub
Ah, The Last Drop – what a gem in the heart of Edinburgh's Grassmarket! I have to say, it's one of those places that really captures the spirit of a traditional Scottish pub, with its rich history and welcoming feel. The food steals the show; I tucked into some proper local delights like the Cullen Skink and Haggis, which were packed with flavour and hit the spot perfectly, alongside other treats like a falafel burger that surprised me with its tastiness. Pair that with a pint or a dram of whisky, and you're in for a treat. The staff are an absolute delight, always quick to serve and full of cheer, and the live music adds such a fun buzz – it's easy to lose track of time. On the flip side, it does get mobbed at times, so you might find yourself jostling for space, and while the quality's there, the portions can feel a bit on the small side for the price tag. All in all, it's a solid choice for a night out if you're up for some genuine Scottish grub and good craic, just pop in early to beat the crowds and keep an eye on your wallet.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The food is absolutely spot on – think delicious Scottish classics like Cullen Skink, Haggis with neeps and tatties, and a cracking Cranachan for dessert; it's all so authentic and flavoursome.
-
The atmosphere is brilliant, with a fun historical theme, live music that gets the toes tapping, and a cosy vibe that makes you feel right at home.
-
Service is top-notch – quick, welcoming staff who are always on hand with a smile, and they've got a great selection of whiskies to boot.
-
Plenty of seating options, whether you're after a spot inside or out on the patio, making it versatile for different moods.
Cons
-
It can get really busy, especially inside, so you might end up waiting for a table or squeezing in, which isn't ideal if you're after a relaxed visit.
-
The prices are a bit steep for the portion sizes; it's worth it for the quality, but it might leave you wanting a tad more bang for your buck.

A restaurant with an interesting past. If you are looking for a Scottish pub serving great authentic local food, look no further than The Last Drop.
They serve really good Cullen Skink and Haggis + Neeps + Tatties. The cranachan is pretty awesome too.
Nice pub that plays on a funny theme. Got the falafel burger + chicken sandwich and both were flavorful. Patio + inside seating available, and service was very fast.
Stopped in here to check this place out because I loved the name of it and the theme, and it looked cool! It was packed inside with little room to stand anywhere. After a little while, a table opened up for us to sit down at right beside the live band that was playing! They were really good and it was so much fun to listen to them while enjoying cold beers 🍻!! We went back again the next night, and it was a different group but still live music. The place has a great ambiance/vibe to it!
Such a nice place to visit and dine. Tasty meals , quick and welcoming stuff. And whiskey...! Totally recommended 👌
Tried haggis for the first time here. It was nice: despite it being made of lamb I didn’t feel that it had a strong flavour. In fact the flavour of the oats was more evident. The vibes here are nice, and the staff are very kind. A bit expensive for the portions though.
