About This Pub

Ah, The King Arthur Sports Bar & Grill – it's one of those places that feels like a proper local haunt, you know? I had a great time there the other week, and from what I've seen in the reviews, it's got a lot going for it. The food's a real highlight; they've got this mix of hearty English classics and some tasty Indian dishes, all at half price seven days a week, which makes it an absolute bargain. Whether it's their mixed grills or a good old fish and chips, the portions are generous and it hits the spot after a long day. The staff are dead friendly too, serving up meals in a flash and making you feel right at home. Plus, with live sports on the big screens and a solid range of drinks, it's perfect for catching the game with mates. But let's be honest, it's not all roses – a few folks have mentioned the food can be just alright sometimes, not exactly mind-blowing, so if you're after something fancy, you might be disappointed. The small car park can be a nightmare if you're driving, and having to grab menus and order at the bar feels a bit old-school, which isn't for everyone. Still, with an overall rating pushing 4.3, it's clear most people leave with a smile, and I'd say it's well worth popping in for a relaxed evening out. Give it a go and see for yourself – you might just find your new favourite spot!

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Friendly and efficient staff who provide quick service, ensuring you don't wait around too long for your meal.
  • A cracking selection of drinks, including real ales and wines, plus live sports on big screens for a lively atmosphere.
  • Tasty mix of traditional English dishes and Indian cuisine, with generous portions that leave you satisfied.
Cons
  • Some dishes can be a bit hit or miss in terms of flavour, so it might not always live up to expectations.
  • The car park is quite small, which can make parking a real faff, especially during busy times.
  • Ordering from the bar rather than at the table might feel a tad inconvenient for those wanting a more relaxed setup.
  • There are concerns about allergens, as they can't guarantee cross-contamination, which could be a worry for some.

Excellent service and food. With 50% off food 7 days a week it makes it excellent value which does not compromise on quality. Would definitely visit again.

My wife and I popped in a couple of weeks ago. We didn't realise we had to pick up menues and order from the bar, once sorted the food arrived and was perfect. All food apparently is always half price so great value and decent portions. There is a car park but it is very small, though on street parking is also available, for midweek there seemed to be a decent amount of diners, many seemed like regulars so that says something. Give it a try, I am sure you won't be disappointed. Going again tonight, can't wait.

The Perfect Place for a Dinner. I was pleasantly surprised that you can eat deliciously and plentifully for just £30 for two. The food was served just 5 minutes after placing the order! The staff are polite, friendly, and work very efficiently. The place is clean, cozy, and the food is truly tasty. If you value a combination of quality, speed, and price, this spot is perfect for you. Highly recommend!

Went on a Friday (West Brom), having been told over phone that we could not reserve a table for 4ppl and it was walk in only. The car park was small, but manage to get the last spot at 5pm. Upon entering, there was a nice looking function room, restaurant side and bar side. We sat in the bar side. It initially looked good with 4 dart boards, pool table, very large screen. When drinks were bought the young man put the money on the counter, rather than giving in the hand; rather ignorant. The drinks were fine. We ordered the food at the bar, as pictured. ( kid) The fish fingers were tiny and over cook, with floppy fries. The Keena Naan was rather small. The portion of side chips was very small, the bucket was stuffed with paper, taking away the volume of chips, they were cheap looking and floppy. The lamb Rogan Josh ( chosen to compare to another where it was rated 5/5) was a small portion, not worth sharing, only had 7 bits of lamb in it, and was just a lot of sauce. The pub was not packed, yet the man clearing the tables was quickly taking things away, my kid had not finished his soft drink, and I was picking at the food. But he took away. Thus not impressed, will not be going back
